Hello everyone, it's great to be here and legally growing in OK!

Alright here's the deal: I have a 2 chamber tent with and HLG 65w & 100w 4k for seedlings and veggies, and the 550 V2 in the main 4x4 flower room. I have had my first grow of regular photoperiod plants. It could have went better, but I am happy enough to start my SOG Autoflowers!

I am currently using Fox Farms ocean for my medium, with cyco nutes. I am using 5 gallon cloth pots and minimally watered... My main question is this: What is a good soil medium to start autos in (if there is a better mix), what size pots should I get for these 8-10 week buggars? I want to go as small as possible without hindering growth and I aslo want the best flow system to wash out my nutrients... On my first grow of regular bagseed, I didn't water until 10% had rinsed out like I am reading here. Also, is there any other schedule than 24/7 that's better for the lights? Most importantly, do I switch to 12/12 once she flowers or just keep on giving in the gas?

Thanks in advance!
Todd

If you mean for autoflowers, you can have a lighting schedule of continuous light down to 18/6. I use 19/5. 12/12 is for photoperiod plants. Going 12/12 with an auto will debilitate your grow. Before I changed to Autocobs, I ran my old led lights around the clock. I liked that best.

2gal should be plenty of space for a sog, 18/6 for lights will be optimal but this is all personal preference. You could get away with running 1gal pots especially if you're planning a true sog, you could easily pull 1oz + per gallon container. I myself prefer hydro, dwc buckets or coco, but again this is all personal preference.

Asking another grower for suggestions on what you should do and when you should do it is like asking someone else to try on a pair of shoes for you. You have to find what works best for you in your environment.

Soil may work great for you, but someone else may not do so well with it. And vice versa. If fox farms has worked for you in the past then roll with it. Or run majority of your pots with fox farms and a few with a different medium as an experiment to see what in fact works best for you. Hope this didnt sound like I was being an asshole, just preaching that you have to find what works best for you in your room. Environments and grow styles vary from grower to grower.

Good luck man, any other questions feel free to tag
