Hey All! :tiphat:

Not exactly a FNG, but it's been a LOOOOONG time. Ole Lady's gone now so it's time for me to PLAY!! Boy how things have changed since my day! Now that I'm gettin' older and more decrepit, I find a lot of meds just don't work the way I'd like and I HATE chemical pharms. SO, I thought I'd go back to the ole' stand-by and give it a try. WOW, after 17 years on the wagon (and what a SUCKY ride it was, cuz my ole lady wasn't cool!!) I went and renewed my relationship with a certain girl from Colombia. After so many years, BOY was she sweet! I'd tried everything else for my sleep apnea and hyperactive insomnia and NOTHING worked that didn't leave me with a bad chemical hangover the next morning. Can't have that! So here I am, stuck in BFE where I don't know a soul that's hip, so I gotta provide for myself now.

Man, things have changed since the '80s. All the new "toys" to play with!! Autoflowering, who'd have thunk it?!? This promises to keep me in meds and is short cycled so one can turn over quite a bit in a short time. I'm still a bit of a lightweight compared to some of you all, but I plan to catch up REAL fast.

As for new toys, I've reading up on the usefulness of CFL lighting and since I plan to only use a 2x4 space in a walk-in closet to start, they should do the job. I'm going to need to research the best short CBD strains; indicas, I guess are still the best. Boy I'd love some good old Humboldt County Skunk, but I guess there are better strains now. I need the high CBD for sleep as I can't seem to get there and when I do, I wake up 5-6 times a night. A light 4-5 hours is all I get at best which after waking up 5 times, leaves me draggin' ass all the next day. I drive a lot on the job so I need my rest.

Well, nice to be here. Looking forward to re-greening my thumb.

PEACE! :peace:

Totally agree, chemical meds are crap, Ive been prescribed all the rubbish my Dr could throw at me, none of it works as well or is as pleasant to take as Cannabis.
Cfls are very good for growing now, yes indeed, things have come a long way since the 80s, autos are the future, Ive grown many photo strains in the past but I am in no rush to grow them again now.
I have been hearing very good things about the Dragon seeds on this forum with regards to pain relief, I believe they are something to do with this forum too which is a bonus.
I shall be getting some myself sometime soon but I should point out if high CBD is your goal pretty much any strain will do if you harvest it late when most of the THC has converted to CBD.
I have done that in the past and it works very well.
All the answers and information you need is on this forum and the folks here are very friendly and helpful, whichever path you choose to walk you do not have to do it alone.
Enjoy the ride my friend, its a fun ride indeed.

You have my heart filled admiration!!
I wish the best for you!!

welcome aboard from one old guy to another.:tiphat:start a grow journal, and you will have quite a bit of help! the people out here love to help a grower:smokebuds:

Welcome man! We'll get ya pumped full of the right meds in no time ;)

Thx Heaps Everybody! I'm gettin' all warm and fuzzy already (and I ain't even lit up yet!). I also posted this in the intro section. Didn't see that til after done here.

@astronomy420a: Dude, I hear you guys in Maine are getting legal (or already have? work in progress?)! I've been looking at some property around Limestone for my "retirement". Comes complete with "underground greenhouses" and "quick escape plan" (Canada borders the property! LOL!). I'm looking into State permitted grower status and if it's viable for me to relocate.

BTW, LOVE astronomy (astrophotography)! Couldn't afford a good Meade though and didn't want to be limited to wide field. Nice avatar of Hubble's enhanced Cat's Eye Nebula.

Light up another one, just like the other one....
Can you dig it??

We have medical marijuana. There's some talk about a referendum to legalise, but
I am not seeing much actual movement.

Have you been to Limestone? If you were to ask me what I liked about Maine,
it would be the ocean, the mountains, the great reataurants. None of those things
are in the County (that's what we call that part of Maine). The weather is Canadian.
Hey, it may be what you want. But I've traveled most of the state, and never gone up there.
It's flat, potato country, there just isn't much up there. I have heard there is a river up there
that has some of the best trout fishing in the country.

Good luck!

Late

I posted for ya in the other iteration of my "noob" post in the "introduction" section. Gonna grab 2 of those Hydrofarm fixtures on payday. Damn good price!

The 2 items I listed were the 2 reasons for the move (Ok, 3 then...). I like the boonies, the state permitted medical grower (need some easy income), and the fact that there is an old Nike missile site with 3 underground "magazines" on 17 acres with an orchard for sale. The magazines will make great climate controlled greenhouses and the northern climate means no insects for a long winter. The price is right and I don't mind a little driving for the better things. Hell, here in Texas, I gotta drive several hours just to see a pine tree (I miss Arkansas!!). The only other place near for legal meds is Colorado and I have no desire for THAT state. If Arkansas had passed their legislation I'd be going there for sure. Maine has better gun laws too, than Colorado. I'm retired military (2nd life), you see, working on ending my 3rd working life (telecomm) and retiring permanently. I need 4 seasons instead of just 2, hot and hotter. LOL! In my first life I worked for a commercial horticultural maintenance company for several years. Some of you may know it as TruGreen or the old ChemLawn. Plants are LOW stress..and smoking them lowers it even more!!! :stylez rasta smoke:
