Has anyone on AFN tried using a Rain Gutter Grow System? Just found this stuff yesterday and really interested in trying it out.
For those going WTF is a RGGS .. .

Probably wont have time to slap together one this year myself, but thinking it would make for a interesting system to use in a arid area like where I live. He also has a Growbag + Kiddie Pool + automatic watering system that could be interesting.

Any comments would be welcome.

It seems simple enough to work I could imagine a garden an the desert with minimal water used but I would not leave the water exposed to light and air like he does just to minimize evaporation which is waist in an arid area. Also the single float idea he spoke of would be more cost effective if you had more then one or two, and would also give you a place to dump your nutes in.

but I gotta say that guy could have put that four minuets of information in four minuets and not fifteen plus that was killing me

I have seen some people using pipes instead of rain gutters, thus reducing water loss, and pest issues. Most of the stuff I have seen so far has the feed system hooked up to a res of some kind. The nice thing with this is its basically a SIP system that fixes the issue I have had in the past with using the double bucket sip systems .. which is a res that just isnt big enough.

Nice :) find GreenGnostic :)

My first hydro experience was in square section guttering and had to cut rockwool slabs to fit.

The idea is sound but I agree about evaporation & light penetration, round pipe works well with holes cut into it.

Round pipe with net pots filled with clay pebbels makes a nice NFT set up.

Thanks for sharing the video with us :D
