Question ab ppm and flushing

I measure my waters ppm before I water and i measure the ppm of the runoff as well. If Im putting in at 150 and it keeps coming out at 1000+ then I have a salt issue and need to flush correct?

There are a lot of variables at play.. What is the medium? What nutrients are you using? How much and how often? Let's start with those questions first.
