A little overdue with this. Originally I was going to run 2 of these and one of the mystery seeds. The 2 Purple's germed and rooted in the soil just fine. The first mystery, the root came out kind of pigtailed and when I planted her, the root came through the surface instead of the stem. Tried flipping her over but the root poked back up to the surface--Gong!. The 2nd one, after 2 days just had a nub poking out in the water. Tried planting but 6 days later-nothing. Gong! So I ended up planting another Purple. She came out with a rather tight fitting helmet on that I thought was going to be a problem. Next day 1/2 of the helmet was like 2 inches away. That night she shook of the other half.

These are all in sips. I broke down and bought an Earthbox jr to use for experiments. The other 2 are in my big diy boxes. I'm using Coast of Maine soil and compost and HomeGrown Microbe Bokashi in the big boxes. My plan was to try the CoM as water only in the EBjr but after a week in the air, she hasn't grown much. Maybe she used all her energy getting the helmet off. MarsHydro SP 150 for the big boxes and ts 1000 for the Ebjr

All for now!

This is Day 19 for the Jr girl. She's been topped and racked. The one thing I don't like about seeding direct is no control over how the branches align with the boxes.

I can see where that could be a problem. I got my regulars in yesterday and I'm gonna look at making something to help with that.

11/15 Day 60 Damn time flies. Girls are all healthy and doing their thing nicely, I've just been feeding them the Homegrown Bokashi per their schedule. I did throw in a banana bomb (avocado tech only with a banana) to get them some potassium. The big pots, the girls are 32" at their peak and the buds are fattening up. Sugar is getting heavy and smells heavenly. It's going to be tough not cutting them too soon.

This is the one in the Jr pot. She's at Day 38. Plenty healthy but she looks like she's havin a bad hair day. Those copter blades are ridiculous

Things are getting interesting now so I'll try to get updates more often. The race track has gone from events every 2 weeks to every week so I've been extra busy. Hopefully I just cut the grass for last time so work load should be a bit easier

I have a new member to the RocBud family. I started out trying some Lemon Haze but both had issues and didn't male it so I dropped a Roc seed and Voila! She's in one of the big Sips and feeding on Homegrown Microbe Bokashi. I've been keeping the hole in the cover open the first week as it seems to help keep stem rot at bay.

The girl in the Earth Box Jr is doing just fine at day 45. Yeah, that's my bed 1' away and what used to be a clothes closet- now my drying space

The 2 big girls are at Day 67 and doing quite well. Since they were both topped, not quite sure why I have 2 branches so tall. I do need to get in there and doing some clearing out to get some better light penetration. I may add my other MH SP150 as it seems the light on the ends doesn't spread out as well as the sides

Trichs are still totally clear so I figure at least 2 more weeks. Hoping not much longer as it would be nice to have some of this for Xmas.

All in all, I'm quite happy with how everything is working together to have a fairly stress free grow. My computer crashed so I didn't have access to my feeding schedule but was able to pull the website up on my phone and actually read the online one- 2 ingredients, 1 tble per gal- simple.
These are just a couple visitors to the string bean cover crop buffet.
All for now
