So here is my latest grow. I'm starting it a little later than first anticipated but finally everything is ready...

I have the following germinating as of 03/07/2012.

1 x TGA - Jack the Ripper
1 x AlphaKronik - Alphadawg
2 x Strawberry Bubba

I am using 7x7x7 square home-made AirPots. I will keep them in these until sexed and then move them to 2 gallon homemade airpots. I'm aiming to get 2 females but will probably end up with 1.

I will be using my newly upgraded stealth grow dresser w/ a Pro-Grow 180 LED and Carbon Filter.

I will be using the foxfarm trio fo nutes. For soil, I'm using foxfarm ocean forest... I have a bottle of superthrive I will be using as well

2 Beans popped!!

AlphaDawg and one Strawberry Bubba have popped and have been put in soil and watered with 6.3ph'd Filtered Tap Water.

The other 2 seeds look about ready to split open so I would imagine by the morning they should be ready to be put in soil

Those home made air pots look interesting. I'll be curious to see how they work out for you.

Thanks. I saw a guy who made his the same way and he showed the root mass after and it was definitely the real deal.. i'll post pics of the males root mass of mine as soon as I know who's who.. LOL

I noticed you have what looks like an s&p td100 or 100x in there. How loud would you say that fan is?

My box is quieter than before with the 140mm (70CFM) PC Fan that I was using for exhaust. The new 4" Fan (110CFM) is quiet even at the highest setting. I did get a fan controller which I am only using to control temperature/humdity in the box. I have a 42 Watt CFL hanging in the box along with the LED light on VEG mode and temps do not exceed 76F or drop below 74F.

I was surprised at the quietness of this fan as reviews stated it was a bit loud. Perhaps this is an updated version of the fan but its quiet. With it being inside the growbox and with all the ducting, it brings the noise level down to barley noticeable. here is the exact fan/filter combo I got http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001H3CV3S/ref=oh_o02_s00_i00_details

AlphaDawg Sprouted and is looking very healthy. The strawberry bubba didn't make it but the other one germinating finally popped yesterday and i planted it in soil. I checked on it today and the taproot has tripled in length ;) i'm still waiting on that Jack the Ripper to pop but i don't think it will ;(

Update: Just checked on Jack The Ripper and its not going to pop. it was smushy so i opened the seed and and it stunk inside and was just mush.. :( Ooh well.. time to start a couple of new beans.. we'll see which ones i choose ;)

5 beans are planted and going strong. These airpots dry out really fast and don't seem to hold very much water. Drainage doesn't exit the holes, it just goes straight down and out. It's proving to be a different growing experience, that's for sure.

1 x AlphaDawg (Oldest)
1 x Strawberry Bubba (2nd Oldest)
2 x East Coast Sour Diesel x c99 (3rd Oldest, same age)
1 x Chocolate Banana Kush (Youngest)

The ones not yet above ground have strong taproot growth so they'll be popping up any day now ;) I think by morning I should see both Sour Diesels above ground. I'd say Saturday the Chocolate Banana Kush should show. ;)

AlphaDawg (I think PH is a bit too acidic, I was watering at 6.3PH but its coming out 6.0 to 5.9.. Will start watering with 6.5 PH to offset that a bit)

Man those are looking really good. I had also thought of a similar idea on the home-made airpots, cool idea dude. I will definitely be trying this out soon.

Did you use heat or a soldering iron to make the holes so that they stay smooth and don't possibly damage the roots?

And did you start your seeds straight into FFOF soil?
I ask because it is said to be too hot for most AF seedlings. Or did I miss the fact that they are photo plants? Sorry if I did.
