Ppm overload

Hey I bought this ppm and calibrated it in the solution it was off by 25 but when I use it what mode do you use? 0.5, 0.7 or the upside down h2..lol I don't know what that one means....thanks

Yes, I keep mine on the 0.5 as that's the common Hanna scale for PPM.

The other two settings are for EC, which the 0.5ppm scale is a conversion from EC. You can use whichever you like. Most people here use EC as it's very accurate, I prefer the 0.5ppm as I get a xxx number insted of 0.x

The mS seting will give you EC.

mS is millisiemens
µS is microsiemens

1500 µS = 1.50 mS = 1.50 EC


0.1 mS = 0.1 EC = 50ppm on the 0.5 scale
0.2mS = 0.2 EC = 100ppm

It says you don't need it. Get their 342ppm cal fluid. Mine was only off by 50-ish. Still, meter is worthless if you don't know if it's accurate.

Hey bud is the 0.5 setting only half of the true reading? Say it reads 50 ppm is it really 100...if so I have been using it wrong and doubling my feed.... thanks... For your help...

0.5 just means 0.5 hanna scale

If you calibrated the pen with the 342ppm solution, whatever number it reads on the hanna 0.5 scale, is accurate.
