Hi everyone. New grower here, in organic soil, 5 gallon fabric pots.

It seems my organic soil hasn't had time to fully cook out and has an over abundance of nutrients and minerals. Today is day 36. I watered today with straight water 1/2 gallon and checked runoff. pH was 6.3 but ppm was 3700 for one plant and 1220 for my other plant. Same soil. So I gave another 1/2 gallon of water after seeing 3700 ppm. Making it 1 gallon of water for the plant with the higher ppm.

My concern is, I'm entering the flower stage. Will the high ppm ruin my grow/flowering stage?

What do you recommend? Thanks again.

It’s organic flushing soil is not a good idea IMO. You don’t know what is flushing out and what’s left in there. Very good chance of throwing the pot of of balance and not enough time in the grow to get it back. Plus there’s lots of stuff that’s still breaking down. When I grow organic I don’t get runoff and do a lot of bottom watering. You can’t trust those runnoff readings from soil only true way is doing a slurry test and even that’s not full proof

So I should just water as normal. What about providing nutrients like potassium & phosphorus to the plants being they are going into flowering. I figured I'd use 1/4 the dose so the plant doesn't get too much of a dose and bump it up if the plants don't complain. I also want to use recharge/mycorrhizal and add that to the soil being that its organic. The mycorrhizal may regulate the nutrients the roots intake?

Thanks again.

Yup that’s what I’d do water as normal. As for the P and K it going o depend on what type/brand of soil your using? Technically if it’s true living soil you shouldn’t need much just need to keep the microbes happy and they’ll make what the plant needs. Recharge is good just don’t need to over do it once week is probably plenty. I only used it in case of emergency if plants were in the need of something quick recharge helped

I know this may come as a shocker, but I'll be using Flower Fuel for my p+k booster only because it's fast acting and doesn't have magnesium. The organic p+k has too much magnesium, so I rather use the synthetic. The soil is fox farms ocean forest.

Oh ok but that has magnesium in it too since one of the ingredients is magnesium sulfate. Just use it carefully and watch for signs of toxicity it has a lot of P and K in it
