Possible Mg/Ca deficiencies

Ahh alright. I already use pH up to balance my nutrients and water up to pH 7 before I feed my plant :]

So I gotta flush it with pH 7 water you're saying? I water with pH 7 (with the nutrients in it) and the run-off is at 5.8, just to clarify.

Hey Billy :smokebuds:

Just to clarify your clarifying statement :)lol:): Is your runoff pH 5.8 when watering with pH 7.0 water or your soil pH is 5.8 after watering with 7.0 water?

If your runoff is 5.8 when you're watering with 7.0 water, that means your soil pH is actually closer to 4.6.

If you did it like this you should be fine it wont happen over night but it will happen.....

Jm's steps.......

make up a water solution.... and use it to change the ph....

say you're at 5.8 in your soil... start with like a 7.0 solution and flush 1x the pot volume...

then drop to a 6.8.... 1x again....

then go to 6.5 and flush 1x again

at this point the runoff should be starting to show close to 6.3 - 6.5 range...

If your runoff is 5.8 when you're watering with 7.0 water, that means your soil pH is actually closer to 4.6.

which says you may well be putting in WAY too much nutes...

use no nute until your ph is stable... then resum feeding schedule at correct ph.

I'm not sure about the too much nutes bit dude, the pH hasn't changed since I put the soil in the pot :]

So I should flush with pH 7 water, then 6.8, then 6.5 water? I've got a 20 litre pot, so it'd be 60 litres total flush right?

See this is what's confusing me, some people say water with pH'd water & nutrients, others say flush it, others say use no nutrients. I'm really not sure which one to do, but I'm thinking the flushing should be the best one as I've already been using pH 7 solutions.

flush to ph on point.... then add nutes back in after they dry out again... :2cents:
