Hi folks. I'm on day 27 of my current grow and some of my leaves appear to have deficiencies from my soil (which is refusing to go to pH 6.5). I've added lots of dolomite lime, about 8-9 tablespoons or so now to my 20 litre pot. I went with 5 tablespoons the first time I saw the pH was out and it didn't do a lot, so I added 1 more each watering to up the pH. Here's my method:

#1 - 5 tablespoons of dolomite lime were sprinkled lightly over the top layer of soil and mixed in
#2 - The pH was tested on the next feed, the result was 5.7
#3 - 1 tablespoon of dolomite lime was added each consecutive watering

It's at 5.8 now :|

Here is a picture of my plant. You can see some of the leaves appear lighter around their edges.

I was thinking of using either Grotek Calmag supplment or Epsom salts in a foliar feed later this evening when the lights are off. I just fed the plant with nutrients, the ones I used were:

0.75ml Liquid silicone/litre
1.00ml BioBizz grow/litre
1.00ml Formulex/litre
1.50ml Calmag supplement/litre

Can you guys advise me on how to remedy the situation please, for both the leaves and soil pH?

I think it's calcium deficiency with maybe a little magnesium deficiency. I decided to use a 1/4 strength CalMag foliar feed :] Sprayed it over on both the top and bottom of all the leaves at 10pm, exact time my lights go off. Hopefully it should remedy the situation, but I still need advice on the soil pH.

Yh i think it maybe cal/mag def due to PH lockout ...... Iv had similar probs man! Only advice i can give is raise ph like ya bn doing with lime.....wouldn't add any more though, have you upped the ph of ya nutes/water going in? I find this works gradually, and yeah folair feed till things pick up. Hope this helps bro! :D

it'll be high in a few weeks... like 7.0

much better in th future to use a liquid ph buffer (like for hydro) because it will respond much faster...

yes... foliar feed for now...

I've got pH up, but how do I apply it to change my soil pH? pH up and pH down are seriously strong solutions, I'm not sure of the correct way to apply them in this instance.

take for instance my water, ph's at 7.2, I know in one gallon of water i can get close with 14 drops of ph down, and every time you water use you ph'd water, and soon enouph it will stableize at your desired ph .....

Just mix ya nutes in water as normal.... Check ph.... Adjust up by adding maybe 1 drop or you may need to add several to raise it! For example ph of water after adding nutes is 6.3 add a few drops..... Check PH and if necessary add another drop or more to get to like 6.8 or 7 :D

make up a water solution.... and use it to change the ph....

say you're at 5.8 in your soil... start with like a 7.0 solution and flush 1x the pot volume...

then drop to a 6.8.... 1x again....

then go to 6.5 and flush 1x again

at this point the runoff should be starting to show close to 6.3 - 6.5 range...
