I seem to have learned a bit about Popcorn from term plants. It seems that removing the lower branches clears the way for more growth of the major buds but Autos got this pain problem. Their recovery time interferes with their lifespan. Does clearing the lowest branches slow them down or supply the more important buds with more energy. Mostly there seems to be a strong warning against fimming (too little time to recover v. output) though I have a report in on topping that says it works. I do know and have seen some late day (8th node) LST that worked great for me.

What about you?

I only remove the small leaves and little shit buds under the plant that don't get any light and wont turn out to be useable.Where does popcorn fit in here, dont get it.

Removing foliage doesnt supply more energy, energy is supplied by the fan leaves mostly, but anything thats green in a general way. Removing parts of the plant just causes the plant to put its energy and growth into other areas. Im not experenced but from reading it doesnt seem like a good idea to remove plants material from autos. There is a mention of topping them at tze 2nd node which seems logical as tuey are small and will recover pretty quick.

Depending on the individual plant and it's structure and growth pattern, I may remove some of the popcorn buds that are at the bottom of the plant and close in to the main stalk. I also may remove a few of the lower fan leaves, especially any that are touching the soil. The popcorn buds usually don't amount to anything and their removal does give more energy to the buds farther up the stalks. Removing those lower fan leaves usually makes it easier to water the plant and provides better air circulation to the top of the soil, discouraging things like fungus gnats that like moist soil to lay their eggs.

huh..thats great..ive been debating it for a while...great info.

Muddy?

It aint just me Youve got quite the following, man

Whenever we talk about autos, its their short life we talk about and their inability to recover as quickly as term plants cause they might be dead. Thats why fimming is out. Too slow. They create few popcorn buds in their short lives its only a mess of little yellow leaves getting outgrown by the phenomenally fast growth above them. In term plants these sneaky little leaves and grow to micro gaps in the sun and create popcorn buds. Autos grow too quick, die to fast so it aint real popcorn. The question is: Yes, pinching leaves hurts but does it really hurt them in their really short lives so as to slow growth?

Thanks.
