Hi All, I have a question on my first grow, Im growing in a 3x3 tent, and just received my auto cob, planted my first seed, Skunk Haze Auto. I started using Sensi bloom after 2.5 weeks or so. But the issue im having is that plant will not stop getting taller lol. I have not topped it, trained it, or anything of that sort, its supposed to be a smaller plant, but its almost hitting my cob. Im only 31 days in from seed planting. Anything I can do or should I just let it go for now? Other than that I cannot believe how this plant took off.

Thanks for reading.

I'd study up on some lst and bend her over. I don't know how much room you have, but she's liable to stretch up into your light during flowering if you don't do something. Too pretty to let her ruin herself like that...

This is a skill you will need to learn sooner rather than later:

Super Cropping

Hardest thing for a new grower to do emotionally and physically is to super crop a plant to keep it out of the lights. The problem is many new growers as well as all of us end up in that situation indoors sooner or later. Have some grafting PARAFFIN TAPE on hand just in case. 6" lower than you think you should, roll the stem crushing the inside 3 x the diameter of the stem in length between your forefinger and your thumb, then bend the branch over at that pinch. Bend to 90° from the stem or horizontal to the light. If you did not get a good enough interior crush the stem can break usually just on the top. If this happens just wrap with the grafting tape and all will be well. You may need to tie down the bent over the top as many branches just lift themselves right back up. A great lesson to teach yourself on your first harvest or any harvest for that matter is to practice super cropping on branches you have harvested. You will get a good feel for what it is to crush and bend without the dreaded potential of "Killing a Cola".

How far did you have your light at start? They will stretch until they get the amount of light they want. Also Kelvin rating has a lot to do with stretch. Best to start under a 6500k and then add a 3k or 2700k rated cob. When in veg they want the blue light and flower tends to use a redder spectrum.

Not much you can do now but super crop or try training for a more even canopy so you can drop the light. 12" is a good spot for a cob imo, you don't lose to much of the spread and still get fat buds.

Also water the crap out of medium an hour before training or super crop to make it easier. Also best to not tie too tight first, I've had them raise and break the branch. Start slowly and bring top lower a little each watering.

I was playing around with the lighting as this was my first cob grow. I think I ended at 24 inches. I only have a 3500k Cob.

Yeah I need to learn now, ty for the reply

Ya definitely got yourself a male there. Carefully remove it from your tent if you ain’t keeping it, just so you ain’t chucking pollen over everything!
