Need some advice folks. My light is at max height above soil at 42". One plant is now 44" and the other is about 39". Not sure what to do here. Thought about trying to do some more lst but the main stem is about 3/8" diameter near the top and worried about breaking the stem.

All advice, tips, etc. welcomed

She will bend some at the top but not much. IMG_0168.jpg
The one on the right is a Trans Siberian at day 46. Strain is supposed to max out at 80cm but she is over 110. The one on the left is a white widow at day 63. Thought her stretch was done but she has shot up over 12" in the last week. IMG_0169.jpg

Yep... I would place straps on the tops and bend them ove maybe an inch or two..... each few days after they adjust just place a little more tension on the straps they should eventually bend over enough to clear the light.

Oh yah...you should be able to bend those girls over easy! It may take a little work and you have some side branches to deal with but you should be able to bend them in a nice "S" shape and get them away from the light. It will take a few days, get the bend started and give her a day to react and bend her some more. They are a lot tougher than you think.

Ok thanks for the input. Time to break out the whips and chains again. lol

Dont know what you have for straps but I used plastic trash bags cut into long 1 inch wide strips... very cheap and worked great

I use pipe cleaners on the plant. Those connect to a bit of twine. That ties to a bent paper clip that is stuck in a hole on the airpot. Works nice - no chaffing on the plant and adjustable by moving the paper clip to another hole.

Pick a point where you wanna bend them, then hold the stem at that point with two fingers and gently start squeezing gradually increasing the pressure and then the stem should be easy to just bend down and then you can use a bit of string or wire to hold that "elbow" on the end of the bent main stem. Then the rest of the bent down part will stand back up :) hope this helps
Peace, Rozzy

As Rozzy posted, if simple LST is not enough try bending the main stem until bent downward towards the soil. Finger pressure at the bend point may not be enough. If required use some pliers to bruise and break the rigid stem to allow a radical stem bend. Generally no issue to plant growth and will give you extra height. Can be performed on same plant several times like a concentina. A bit ugly to look at but works very well. I have never lost a plant or top stem from doing this. However a warning....be careful when starting to be bend the stem! It can break clean off! So bruise the stem bend point with fingers/thumb or pliers(for a thick stem).
You will know when the stem has been weakened as the stem will start to hang downwards. Some stem splitting will be visible but should not impact growth or yield.
If using pliers, be gentle bruising the stem(press lightly a few times instead of a single squeeze).
