What's up autoflower network? I'm planning to do a micro grow in a pc case soon and i need some advice on the best possible setup to get at least 1oz+. I know it's possible i've done alot of reading and researching.

The supplies i plan on getting are as follows:

*First of all the strain i'll be growing Med Gom 1.0 and possibly another strain alongside it for some variety.

*NZXT H630 Case ($150) - http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/120-H630.html
(Case Dimensions: [W 9.6"] [H 21.5"] [L 22" ])This case looks absolutely fantastic for growing, completely dust filtered, big fans, fan controller, sound dampening material, heavy, seems to be fairly light-proof, and of course very expensive but i don't mind paying a premium for stealth.

*Humboldt Oneness Base Nutrient 16oz ($8 ) -
Cheap

*PH Control Kit ($14)

*TDS Meter & Calibration Liquid ($27)

*AC to DC Adapter - 110V AC to 12V DC Converter w/ Standard 4 Pin ($11) -
For powering fans through the 4 pin fan controller included in the case. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/9..._AC_to_12V_DC_Converter_w_Standard_4_Pin_500m A_Max.html?gclid=Cj0KEQiAr9ymBRDdqYrH6Mj5170BEiQAc RUsizrEnSgqPV7SRRq-Pm1sf7_bQ_MAvzDuWi4Zm5G1XJkaAvQS8P8HAQ

*Mylar & Tape ($10)

*1 Cheap 140mm fan w/ 2 140mm Dust Filters ($8 )-
I'm going to gut this fan and use the plastic shell with dust filters on each side and fill it with activated carbon for the carbon filter. There is already an included 140mm exhaust fan included with the case which will push through the fan shell filled with carbon, i might put another 140mm fan on the other side for a push-pull configuration depending on efficacy.

*Power strip and Light Timer ($15)

[Eventually i'm going to get a reverse osmosis system but can't afford it right away, so i'll have to settle with distilled water]

Now here's where i need some help, i don't know what kind of growing medium or lights i should use to reach my goal of 1oz+. I was thinking of using one of these swivel power strips http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000JEACFK/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3VQ6 94K3JSC4B&coliid=I14JROF3D2RKDP&psc=1 and 8 of these light socket adapters http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001OM1L06...TF8&colid=3VQ694K3JSC4B&coliid=I1INTL UD1SSG7W for a cheap diy cfl light. My thinking is that it will be easily replaceable if a bulb were to go out i could just pick up another bulb locally, only thing is i could only probably fit 26w cfls in there, that would be 208w of cfl. The other option i was looking at is a 300w led grow light with 170-180w of real power consumption @ $105. http://www.ebay.com/itm/300W-LED-Gr...pectrum-Indoor-Hydroponic-Plant-/131261424419 Which would you recommend?

And for the grow medium how should i go about that? I was thinking of something short but wide like a 6qt - 8qt storage container, but should i go hydro, coco, hempy? And also how many plants would you recommend to reach my goal? Any help, advice, recommendations or opinions on my setup are appreciated.

I would go for the LED. That's way more efficient towards what your plant will need in light spectrums and if you have some space left you can add some side light cfl's to get a little more watts.

I don't know shit about micro growing but I would use soil, get some pots and see how much of them you can get in there and put a seed in every pot you have in there! a micro SOG would be fun!

LED is a little more expensive but.... it will last much longer than cfl, though having the convenience of replacing the cfl bulbs locally is plus. Yeah i guess i'll go with the led, less heat and it will look pretty sexy in the case. The top of the case has a metal frame for two fans that will work perfectly to mount the light and will allow for space for ventilation and power chord clearance. Led is alot shorter than the cfl setup too, more room to grow.

I don't know about shipping soil, i wouldn't have to order much i guess. Not a bad idea. True micro SOG would be sweet, if i do that i might as well feminize a plant to make sure i don't have to buy any more seeds. Thanks for the idea.

You would be suprised how low shipping costs are. You might even find some on amazon which would mean free shipping!

$18 and free shipping for 3 gallons of Fox Farms Ocean Forest, pretty decent i'd have to say. If i went with soil i wouldn't want to buy extra nutrients and the ph/tds meter and stuff. Distilled water is usually ph neutral so i don't think i would need any of it. Think i could get away with a whole grow using soil, like maybe making a liquid tea from the soil by straining it through a cloth if the nutrients run out in the used soil? That would be awesome and would keep the cost down as well.

Or maybe i could veg them in small containers like solo cups or something and when flowering starts transplant to a bigger container that will last the rest of the grow?

I would suggest buying nutrients if the soil runs out of it you've got a problem, doesn't have to be anything expensive.

+ go to the beginner's forum there's a stickie about FFOF!

sounds like your on your way man!!Sweeet!Im jealous.a lot of nice new gear is always awesome..if I may lend an opinion..? in my humble opinion I would steer clear of FF soils for now.especially if your using nutes solely too.a lot of components in there are wasted and essentially wasting cash.if you wanna do chems thats great but you can get any soil less mix and add some perlite,Dolomite lime powder.and/or prilled lime pellets and let that work in the soil for a small spell and thats essentially all you need for a decent starter chem grow with seedling mix like jiffys or black gold or grow cubes or similar.root riots are good too,but i prefer a seedling mix,but thats me. and FF soils have had a wishy washy rep this past year or better with mixed and BAD PH out of the bag thats hard to adjust.so that means their using from time to time a tainted source thats far from natural imho. but thats my 2 cents bro.But ive seen several grows that worked well.it is a crap shoot so get a Soil probe(a good one too) and test the bags prior to buying them.ALWAYS a good thing.nobody will bother you cuz your making sure the product is sound.or ask if THEY'LL test it.some cool guys might whip out a probe n ya can get a baseline as to where the natural PH is of the bag(s) o soil ya wanna get.
