Hey guys,

Noob question: I just calibrated my pH meter and I’m using FFOF with the FF trio of nutrients. What is ideal pH for water and feed? Is this even really necessary in this type of soil?

Thanks for any feedback!

It’s always good to know your ph and EC values, but you shouldn’t need to fuss over ph too much with soil. I would consider switching to Happy Frog over FFOF, which is know to be a bit hot for many auto strains. If you have already planted then don’t give any supplements for at least 3 weeks, probably 4-5 (and I really mean give it nothing, even a little EWC can put it out of balance and make it too hot for seedlings). If you haven’t planted then I would strongly encourage you to switch to Happy Frog. This is your first grow I think? HF is going to give you a better chance of success first time out.

good luck!

Yes, you still want to make sure your ph is in the proper range for your medium type. With soil 6.2-6.6 is the range I shoot fore.

I use FFOF with about 30% perlite added. As well as the FF trio. Always pH my water to 6.4-6.6 after letting it sit out for about a day. If you can oxygenate it with an air stone and pump even better. After that I stopped having issues.

Appreciate it, guys. I’m on day 13 in FFOF, but I may look into Happy Frog my next grow if I run into any issues - or a combination of the two. I’m reading 6.5-7.0 is solid, just wanted to make sure.
Thank you!
