Lesson learn't . well the PH pen I had - ebay - 20 bucks was fine for a little while then I was not sure if it was reading right so I brought a you beaut one $100 , wow , the other one was way out , lucky I caught it in time , so guys don't be a tight arse when it comes to meters the yield will more than make up for the cost .I want to have plants like the good growers and I am finding a lot starts before you even put a seed in the ground .Also I find having PH up and down and Cal Mag on hand before you start is good , that way you are not waiting for it to turn up if you don't have it . and the one in the photo will become your best friend if you are growing in soil .

I hear you man. I blew through a bunch of crap till I found some good 'calibration' equipment. I almost freaked out when I tested some snow water I was about to use when I found out that it was kind of alkaline at 7.0... It's real nice when you know everything is in balance... Especially the first time around.

I have the same PH meter, I think it is a Accurate 8. Great product and is reliable compared to many others on the market. I question the moisture reading and prefer my moisture reader from China for such readings.

Hey Mate,

I nearly bought 1 for $20 at Mitre10 the other day, the sales guy in the garden shop is right into "gardening" as well, we seem to know each other don't we lol. He said hey are not much chop so I didn't buy it. I want to get a good probe too, alot easier than the mix up kits, but they are good too, the Manutec ones, developed by the CSIRO. I'm gonna cross check my probe results with the manutec kit just to see ! Good to see you're getting right into it, i see you been doin heaps of homework, good man ! You'll be on the help team soon ! :peace:

Well i know it from my Dj Times .better invest some more Bucks to get good EQ. Thats why i bought myself a Bluelab Set at the Start.and now several Years Later they still work propper.
