cleaning/storage solutions often overlooked, some pens have slightly different storage conditions.distilled water/ph7.dont let the probe dry out is key.

Cheers, it arrived yesterday. It says to rinse in distilled water, after use. Would de-ionised water suffice? Or maybe the fancy coca cola water. It's called smart water and is vapour distilled but has vitamins in so maybe not for the best.some meters can be slightly different depending what material the lil electrode bit is made of,so the storage conditions can be slightly different.give the destructions a good going over
9 outa 10 pen fails come from the probe drying out.
what it says about my pen

Thanks @archie gemmill , that makes sense to me! It's a nice piece of kit so I want to make sure its looked after.i think the rinsing before/after use is,technically to get a more acurate reading in theory.but as it goes to 2 decimal places its acurate enough
i have to be honest and say a run under the tap before use is what i do.but i try my best to keep the lid topped up with storage solution.
de ionized water is pretty pure, the + ions have been removed.distilled water has been boiled and condensed,in theory a smidge cleaner than de ionized water.
pinch of salt... de onized will do
good luck n keep er lit
