Hi all! Hoping for some experienced eyes to look at my plants and see if we can get to the root of any issues - Pun obvs intended

I have 8 plants, 3x CBD kush, 3x Northern Lights, 2x Amnesia Haze growing in coco, 8litre fabric pots.

1m2 tent, 600w HPS, Fans on controllers, oil heater and tube heater due to cold space.

With it being my first time, i made a good few mistakes, but were into week 5 now, and other than the CBDs which are a faster grow they aren't looking too happy preflowering.

I watered today with a good run off, EC 1.2 - checking the run off of the 3 strains i noted the following:

CBD - run off was almost 2.0 ph 6.4
Amnesia - run off was 1.2 ph 6.3
Northern - run off was 0.85 ph 6.5

Ive been watering every day and mostly giving a good run off as i wanted to flush as much as possible, since being fully rooted i understand its hard to overwater.

Lights about 20 inches above, and theres an oscillating tower fan giving some breeze with a clip on fan blowing over the top of the canopy.

Im concerned about temps at the pots, i have a probe plugged in thermostat to the heater, which is trying to maintain 21 degrees c. i think this might be dropping at times.

i recently switched from 20/4 to 24/0 to help this.

Whats everyones thoughts?

2 things.
1. How close to lights out are you?
The obvious answer is overwatering; however, I thought I was overwatering when actually I was looking at my plants a couple hours b4 lights out. Once a plant hits its DLI it takes a nap and looks extremely like overwatering. I was so afraid of overwatering I went to a once every 48 hour watering in coco. Even after I realized that I was not overwatering. I am sure I lost weight due to this. If your lights go off at 8 AM and on at 2PM and you water when lights come on and they look good at 4,6,8, PM12, 2, 3 AM. But look weepy at 6 or 7 AM it is probably that they hit their DLI.

I grow organic and do not water to runoff so I'm no help there.

I just saw that you went to 24/0. I'm pretty sure you are looking at DLI issue. Go to 18/6. Or at the very least 20/4.

As always. Just my opinion.

Thanks for commenting, so my lights are around 20 inches from the tops, Im starting to believe i could well be overwatering. I think i was under the impression that now the plants are well rooted, they couldnt be overwatered. I have been watering each day around 800ml - 1 litre in 8 litre pots to achieve a good run off.

I think that i have been overdoing it, so will allow them all to dry out a bit more maybe give them a rest for the next day or so, and then water less.

I dont know too much about DLI to be honest. With autos, i believe they are just as happy in 24/0 as they are 20/4 - They have been 20/4 for 5 weeks, but due to me finding too much dropping temps i switched them this weekend to 24/0 - I have read that this is ok from other users.

It is a misnomer that ruderalis grows in 24 hour light. Plus at most autos are 10% ruderalis. so what about the other 90%?
Plants have 2 photo systems. 1 and 2. 2 occurs when lights are out. Just because you can does not mean that it is best. I can only speak for myself and I am positive that my plants were going to sleep b4 lights out. I am also positive that I was not overwatering.

are you growing in soil or coco also when i started out if i was worried about overwatering i would just lift the pot and decide by that i grow in coco myself and i feed to run off daily as you really dont want to let your coco get bone dry

many of the best seed breeders grow in 24 hr light but they are most likely dialed in. 24/0 will probably magnify/hasten underlying issues..tho, but the droopy, twisted growth is highly unlikely due to these plants"resting" due to constant light exposure... that generally looks a lot different ime....

Im not suggesting it’s best to use 24/0. Simply that due to my cold grow area. With temps dropping at lights out. I’ve changed to accommodate and rule out temp issues. I was 20/4 for 5 weeks and only changed accordingly.

I’m not saying it’s better. But seeing that autos are okay with it and peoplehave found no difference. Then I’d rather do this than run low temps.

Yes growing in coco. I have been watering daily until a lot of run off regardless of how light the pots are. They definitely haven’t been near bone dry! I feel like every other day might be more suitable. They’re not very big in 8 litre pots. I think near a litre each has been overkill. The Lower 5th of the pots looks wet not just the underneath. And I’ve noticed small green spots on the perlite in the top. (Algae) I read somewhere these could be signs of overwatering!?
My EC runoff seems within range aside from two of the healthier plants and my ph is not even 1 higher on run off. There’s no burnt tips.

Yellowing in new growth like iron or sulphur def. Spindly skinny new leaves and then drooping and twisting leaves seems to be the main issues. And it’s on all plants. So im thinking it’s either overwater or cold climate. Otherwise it wouldn’t affect all three strains the same which clearly want different nutes???

What do you reckon?
