Lesson Learned

So Blu is showing great growth right now and the seedlings are looking decent as well.

Blu is growing so well in fact, that it is time to raise the lights. The problem that I foresee occurring is that as I continue to adjust the lights for Blu the new plants will get the short end of the stick according the the inverse squared law.

Although I think they will grow fine, for optimal growth, it would've been nice to keep them all a standard distance away.

So next time around, I will be attempting to grow one set of three @ a time, unless I add some supplemental lighting somewhere down the line. The other thing that could help is planting feminized seeds. That way, it'd be less likely that I'd have to remove a plant as I did with the two previously occupying gentlemen, formerly known as Yello (1) and Pink.

Just thought I share this if any other newbie was browsing about. Update you all later...

Better Solution

BOOKS!!
They are good for something, lol. I'll just stack books under the little ones to raise them up as the lights move up and then we'll be great

This is probably a "well duh" moment, but I take proud in it for now, lol

<b>Day 21 (Blu) & Day 5 (Yello/Orange) Updates

So Blu has begun to flower
icon_biggrin.gif

I plucked a couple of her bottom leaves today that were pretty much buried in the dirt and started yellowing.
On the downside, I discovered a few white spots on one of her leaves... only this one leave. Still though, it's a concern for a newb like me. Any ideas?

Yello looks like it's off to a good start. Orange seems to be a bit of a runt, but is actually showing steady (although slow) growth.

Pics are below... View and chime in...
As for me, just gotta quarter and it's time to try it out

Til next time...

Day 27 (blu) & Day 11 (orange/yello) updates!

So I've been a pretty bad parent lately...
went away from break and the plants went for a 5 day period of no watering. They still look decent for the most part, aside from the neglect.

Blu is well into flowering. Concern though: I know bottom fans will begin to yellow @ some point, but I wouldn't think that plant is @ that stage, being just 4 wks of total growth. The other possibility I can think of is a nutrient deficiency, which would make sense since she's gone through a bit of a mini-drought. I'm leaning towards the latter. Let me knowwhat you think.
Also should I leave the "yellowed" leaves on, or prune them?

Speaking of Yello, she and Orange have been showing decent growth as well. Much better now that I've raised them closer to the lights. Crazy to think, in a little more than two weeks they'll be looking like Blu.

Welp... til next time

**Edit 6 hrs later**
So I got antsy and went ahead and pruned the yellowing bottom fan leaves. I've read early flowering period isn't a bad time to prune anyway. Hopefully it'll result in better airflow and more energy being distributed to the nugs...

Day 32 (Blu) & Day 16 (Orange) Updates

How's it hangin'?

It's crazy to think Blu is about half-way through her grow already. I've plugged in some updated shots of her. 'looks very promising I must say

Orange is growing low and wide. but what life without a little punchline in it, lol.

Yello... well Yello just isnt a good color for this cabinet I guess, because this is the second time a "Yello" turned out to be a male.... Anywho, he's no longer with us

Time to get back to bakin' and playing StreetFighter... don't be too jealous

Switch Blu's nutes into flowering mode. 'givin' her GH FloraNova Bloom and Sucanat... Orange has yet to show sex, so I'm thinkin' it's a girl

Another user stated: "looks good toke! pic 4 are those male sacs i see? if so im sorry to see that man"

To which I replied: Indeed they are... So there's one flowering female and an unknown in the cabinet Bouta germ a replacement now

Another user asked: nice man, i just read ur grow so far, what do you reckon ur gona pull of these mate?

To which I replied: I have no experience with this strain... or any other strain for that matter, lol. When I bought them though, it said it may yield up to 20-30g. I'm hoping to get an ounce per plant, which doesn't seem too bad for a foot tall plant in a microgrow for a ten wk period... we'll see though. Stay tuned and when I find out, so will you

Pic Updates & Boy Do They Look Good!!!

So Blu is looking awesome!! She still has 30 days until harvest, so I imagine I will be very happy with her yield. Only slight negative is she's getting quite fragrant. Pretty soon I think it'll be too much for the ionizer. May have to incorporate a scrubber.

Orange finally showed sex, and it looks like we have two girls bunking with each other in the cabinet

After seeing how bushy Blu has gotten, I've decided not to sprout a third. Instead I think I'll do a perpetual grow. Every 5 weeks start a new plant. I smoke daily, but not much and am sure an nice ounce/5 wks can be a legit personal stash....

Anywho check out these pics... time for me to blaze

<b>Day 47(Blu) & Day 31(Orange) Updates!!!

So Blu just did something interesting today. For the past few days, you could easily catch a whiff of her pungent odor. Today though, not so much. It was much more subtle now. I pulled her out to investingate & she had sweet scent to her. I've no experience but that seems pretty interesting to me. Does this sound normal? Anywho, 23 days til harvest & she is plumping up nicely. The main cola is the size of an elephant fetus (I'm a zoo delivery vet). Can't wait til harvest time!!!
weed2.gif

Orange has little pistils shooting out from everywhere and is looking good to be a little over 4 wks. She has stretched a lil' tho :/ But she'll be fine... I'm gonna snip her bottom fans and lower colas that'd be shaded otherwise, in hopes more energy is focused into the larger colas up top.

Welp I'm high and having a lady friend over in a few. As always, pics are along the bottom. Left to right: Blu, Blu's Main Cola, Blu & Orange together, Orange solo....

P.S. That zoo vet thing is a total lie. I have no idea how big a elephant fetus is, lol.

Pics + more...

So attached are a few bud shots as of today....
Orange had a crazy growth spurt recently. She started off growing so low, and now she's as tall as Blu. Well into flowering now. 'clipped her bottom fan leaves and bud sites. I'm hoping it'll pay off...

Blu has over 50% amber pistils. She's looking so good. It's about time to invest in a lil microscope so I can judge by the trichomes when she's done. I'm planning to begin in a lil less than a week...

Unlike Orange, Blu's bottom buds weren't snipped in early flowering. Unfortunately, my area has seemed to hit a little drought and I got a little anxious, so I snipped the small bottom buds and microwave steam dried them. I didn't expect much giving the immaturity and drying method, but I must say it still was much more tasty, potent, and smooth than the random commercial crop floating around. Can't wait for the final product.... there's nothing like kind bud

On a separate note:
If you look @ Orange's leaves, you'll see the tips are bent. Aside from that, the plant looks healthy and fine though. Any ideas??

Day 56 (Blu) & Day 40 (Orange) Updates!!

So I went back home for 5 days to spend time with the family for xmas. While gone, I had my roommate water the plants for me & this is what I came back to today:

Blu's been getting flushed for about a week. With my naked eye I can tell there's been a change with the trichomes, going from clear to some opaque/some amber just based on the "shade of glimmer" given off. Also as you can see, the leaves have yellowed and shriveled. So even though the pack said it should be 70 days from seed to harvest and members encouraged me to wait until day 70 to harvest as well.... I'm gonna make the newbie exec decision to harvest in 2 days.
I've placed her in total darkness, where she'll remain until I harvest her.

Since orange was growing so high, I did a little LST instead of raising lights up 'cause I figured it didn't have much growth left: WRONG. I came back and the main touched the light and burned a bit :/
So needless to say, I raised the light and it doesn't look too bad....

Welp, welp.... pics line the bottom. (Left to Right): Blu, Blu Main (as long as a mech pencil), Blu Main Cola (wide as a small lighter), Orange prior to raising the light

Blu56.jpgBlu56MainCola1.jpgBlu56MainCola2.jpgOrange40.jpg

Timmmmbbbbbeeeerrrrr!!

Call it beginner's anxiety, call it being concerned, but looking @ Blu with her leaves falling off just screamed "I'm ready." I flushed the plant with 2.5 gallons last night and finally cut her down and trimmed her today.
As always pics included.

In other news, I think I'm gonna' enter the party cup competition that's recently started... more on that to come.
