ParfactWorks, Zeusol ZE250 Test/Review

Starting seedlings I try to have a balanced spectrum, 30% blues, 70% 3000k/reds.
I've used this approach as well. After much tinkering over the years, I have learned that it is very much possible to use the spectrum to control growth patterns. In this case, I'd like the plant to remain somewhat short. So I'll force it to begin its life with a 'Blue' lean in the spectrum. Aside from sunrise and sunset settings... Around day seven, I will begin incorporating 'red', on a slow daily increase unily 50/50 is acheived at around day 30. And at that point blue will begin a slow decrease until red leans 75% and blue 25%. At the same time, beginning at day 30, I will add a dose of UV for 2 hours everyday starting an hour before noon until slowly backing it down 2 weeks prior to harvest. It may sound complicated, but with the ParfactWorks Rj11, it's simple.

Because of the way the bars mount to the ballast box it doesn't look easily possible to remote the ballast.
There is no way to run them independently from the driver box. But it is very slim none the less. It's under 5 inches tall. And it doesnt produce much heat at all.

Day 10, and growth has been what I'd expect from this cultivar. The light is at 20 inches, providing about 265 PPFD. 5000k is at 46%. 3000k is set at 4%, UV is set at 1% for one hour at noon during the cycle as of now, and the total wattage output is around 75 watts.

The ZE250 remains unexpectedly cool. I will continue to monitor the fixture temperature throughout the grow as the light intensity is increased.

Day 14 for our Ogreberry sprout.

I've made slow steady adjustments to the spectrum, at a rate of 2% a day for 3000k, and will increase to 4% hereafter until 3&5k are a mix of about 50/50. At that point she should be showing preflower, and I will boost the 3000k in 4% intervals every day until 75%(with room left to increase if needed) power is acheived. All the while I will slowly lower 5k to a max low of 25% power. I will continue to slowly expand the UV exposure time daily, and increase output power to my target of 50% by the time early flower is underway.

Day 18
Growth is beginning to be on pace so a soil ammendment at this point is right on track. I've continued with the light schedule, and she's receiving 360 PPFD at the moment. UV wattage is slowly increasing, and the schedule has lengthened to 3 hours and will max at 5 hours per day. Those 5 noontime hours will become peak hours, as I've incorporated UV into the full light schedule starting at sun up until dusk. Daytime running UV wattage will slowly be brought to 50% of peak at the beginning of flower, where it will remain for the duration through flowering.

I really like how much control the 3 dimmers give, but I'm probably not knowledgeable enough to set them separately.

Because of the way the bars mount to the ballast box it doesn't look easily possible to remote the ballast.
If your a set it forget person. ParfactWork's Wing Flex series has the entire spectrum balanced and adjustable with a single dimmer, or with the RJ11. I'm just finishing up a grow cycle with the WF420 if you're interested. It's a great light that gives consistent results.

Day 25

She continues to thrive as expected, and she has shown her sex. Stretch is now impending, and the light schedule is still on track.
