Goes to show you what I know. I worked on deer range surveys up there back in the day, you would think I would recognize the forest better. OTOH, our northern interior forest is very similar, so called sub-boreal in both cases.

Anyway, a beautiful spot. The northern lakes portion of Ontario is a spectacular area, one that I have not been in for quite a few decades. Tom Thompson country for good reason.
