IRONY I GUESS...Hypocrisy
Yes, hypocrisy is another applicable term. OTOH, us hunters need to understand that some non-hunters find photos of the dead animals genuinely distressing. There is a real non trivial compatibility issue here when trying to maintain the fabric of a site like this. As a life long hunter, I accept that what I do is deeply repugnant to many people, no matter my defense that hunting supplies me with organic meat, is common and perfectly legal where I live, and that any hunted animal I have eaten died a quicker and less stressful death than the ones supplying the shelves in the local grocery store. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, wild venison might be one of the most climate friendly meats out there.

Anyway, I wish the moderators the best of luck on this one. There is no way everyone will be happy no matter what they do.

Whats the difference with showing dead fish?

Whats the difference with showing dead fish?
For me, and presumably you, bugger all. Interestingly however, in the outlook of commited vegans, bugger all difference for them too, albeit for obviously different reasons. For some people, perhaps, the comparison would be similar to comparing a dead house fly with a dead pet dog shot by the neighbour.

Irrational or not, believe it or not, agree with it or not, quite a few people genuinely and honestly live in a very different reality than hunters do. A more distorted reality than mine I might argue, but mostly I just don't bring it up unless someone else does first. As the saying goes, been there, done that, know how the discussion goes. No longer interested in other's trying to change my mind, and not particularly interested in changing theirs. Getting lazy in my latter years I suppose.

Why are hunting pics being deleted? Are we a bunch of whacked out lefties here too?
Ridiculous!!!!
 I do know all the deer taken were legal kills. Sorta kills the thread title other hobbies. IMO if ya dont want to know dont ask and if you do than accept it for what it is not making it what you want it to be just saying
Interesting. So let me see if I have this straight. Someone on here is on their moral high horse about pictures of someone's hunting pictures, presumably pictures of dead animals. I can't help pointing out the irony here - complaints about pictures of legally harvested dead animals on a website filled with journals of illegal commercial cannabis operations, some of which are likely selling to minors who could actually be hurt by the stuff.

OTOH, I guess the vegans aboard this train would find the photos more offensive than I find the lack of them. Sigh. Getting along is complicated.

i removed the pictures of the dead deer due to the graphic nature of the photo if it was just a carcass clean no blood i wouldnt have deleted them but it wasnt it was clearly showing a gunshot wound i deem that to be too graphic for the public site just like i would do the same if someone put up a pic of there hand chopped off there is no moral high horse its just plain and simple there is a private hunting and fishing thread if thats the kind of content you want to upload this is not up for debate

A rational approach Trichome, this is not an easy topic. Thanks for trying to apply balance the best way you can.

Back to the original thread topic, I have done lots of "hobbies", but if I had to choose one, or at least one group, I would say I like to make stuff. Quite a few high end classical guitars, and a couple cedar strip kayaks for example. And of course, the DIY growdrobe and LEDs I used for my first indoor attempt. I seem to have a genetic propensity for bias here - DIY often wins even when a more impartial analysis would suggest otherwise. But it is so much fun, usually.

Why was the coyote pic deleted?
i didnt do that myself but much for the same reason a mod deemed it not suitable for this thread which i agree with running over coyotes isnt a hobby hunting them now thats a different story

Rather than receive notifications that a comment has been made regarding hunting photos and their removal, maybe you guys could carry on your discussion via PM? I mean no offense but I'd like to keep watching this thread because it's a good way to get to know my fellow AFN'ers but I'm considering stopping my subscription because I'm not interested in the debate about the hunting photos. Again, I mean no offense to either side of the discussion.
