I have seen people run autos with no dark time at all. I think they do a lot better with it though. I went with 6 off so I can get some sleep as light can keep me up. I probably would have gone 4 otherwise.

So if I follow you (and I want to be sure I do) if I have auto's on a 20/4 lighting schedule, darkness still needs to be maintained completely for the 4 hours, correct? Obviously, it would be much easier to find a 4 or 6 hour block of time where the tent would be undisturbed as opposed to 12hrs.

I actually seem to remember reading something from Mephisto about autos not being effected by light stress. I will see if I can find it in their grow guide.

Edit: Yup, they say no issue with light leaks, and even say they think their autos finish faster under 24/0.

The babies are at one week today from breaking soil. They were sluggish the first couple of days, but I think they are starting to pick it up. I am still trying to find the sweet spot with the light and have it at 200w at 22 inches. I set it there last night and they don't look upset today so I will let it ride a few more days and see. It was at 150w after putting it together and they looked like they could take more. My kill a watt meter shows the light at 24w all the way dimmed and 442w turned all the way up, so I have room to adjust.
I gave each of them a cup of water today too since it has been so hot.


I am trying to not over water like I usually do.

Howdy all. I hope everyone has had a great weeks end.
I wanted to try and do updates on the weekends and figured I would start today. It is the end of day 10 and things seem to be moving along. They were looking a little droopy so I made some tea to give them. I just used humus, thermal compost and molasses and brewed it for 24 hrs. They each got 2 cups of it diluted 3 to 1 last night. They still look a little down though and aren't reaching for the light like they were. I will probable do another tea in a month or so, but otherwise it should be just water from here on out.

Update time . I would have done it sooner, but I was tied up with going to see the eclipse. Pretty awesome to see it in full. I went to Madras OR for the show .

So here they are at day 19 . I went ahead and turned the pots and air pumps on this morning and turned the light up . I raised the lights up over about 4 days and just hit full. I hope they like it and don't get all stressed out .

I watered them again with 2 cups each ro water on Sunday and filled the res with just ro water. I want to add some malted barley but am not sure when I will do it. I was going to add molasses top feed once flowering started and will probably do the barley then too, just not sure that is the best time. If anyone has suggestions I would love to hear them.
