Grow Mediums Organic Gold Glue in autopots under cobs

One of the reasons why I love autos over photos. :pighug:

I have some auto beans in my possession and look forward to my first auto grow next!! I minimize it (and I put a heavy blanket over the tent) but each time my wife goes in that part of the basement I want to stop her but that would not go over well. :worship:

I love organic soil in auto pots!

:cheers::pass:

Woot! Finally got the ball rolling on my new setup. :woohoo:
I was going to wait until the rest of my cobs showed up to get my seeds going, but I couldn't wait:shrug:. I should have the last 2 cobs tomorrow so I didn't jump the gun that bad. I will end up with 400w of cxb3590 in a mix of 3500k (4), 3000k 90 cri (2) and 4000k (2). My tent is a mars hydro 39''x39''x70'' with a vortex exhaust fan on a controller.

My soil is a mix of compost with castings, peat and perlite. I added glacial rock dust, a mix of dolomite and ag lime, gypsum and oyster shell flour, crustation meal, fish bone meal, neem seed meal, kelp meal, food grade de, bentonite and biozeus. It sat for about a month before I put it in the pot.
I made a seedling mix with the base soil mix and the lime mix and used about a gallon in the top part of each pot.
The pots have about an inch of perlite in the bottom covering part of the air domes, then about 2-2.5 gal amended soil with a gallon of base mix on top. I used a gallon container to make the space for the gallon of reg while filling it up. I have gnatnix on top of that as I always have fungus gnats around thanks to neighbors. I also added mosquito dunks to the mix. I hope to use water only during this grow with maybe a compost tea top fed when flowering starts.

I soaked the seeds in ro water for about 12 hours and then put them in the pots at about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. They started showing up on the 4th day and the picture is about 2 1/2 days after surfacing :vibe: Pretty excited to try out the autopots and the autos. I haven't used this soil mix before either, so it could get interesting :muahaha:.

The first couple days have been getting warm in here. The ac is keeping the temps around 85 to 90 mid day. Things should be back to normal and below 80 this next week I hope.

When you first turn on the res, run it for a day, then turn it off for 2-3 days. then on again. It gives the soil time to moisten evenly and the plant a chance to acclimate to having lots of water.

Here's some hash plants in organic soil:

Yeah, I am guilty of over watering myself. These will fix that for me.
I have a chair next to my tent so I can hang out with them. I like to sit with my plants and encourage them to grow :growing:

Yeah, I had some tarps hanging off my tent with the photos last round. The zippers in my tent have tiny pin hole spots that show light, but from inside you don't see any. I just didn't want to chance it with light stress so I tarped the outside walls that faced light. This run is a lot easier with the bottom vents open (no passive ducting) and no worries on the light stress. when I replace this tent I think I will just make a box out of 2x4s and insulation board.

I love organic grown smoke for sure. I used guanos last year, so I am looking forward to see how they do with the fish/ crustation meals. I might do a mix of both after this run to compare. Those girls of yours look vary happy and healthy.
I was going to ask you, do you use a drainage layer at the bottom of your pots with the soil?

Well, my lights didn't come this weekend. The last 2 times I ordered from them I had the lights in 2 days, so I guess I am just spoiled . My email service is having issues, so I am not even sure if they have shipped yet. I do have the new frame all set and pre drilled. light frame.JPG

I gave my girls a foliar spray of coconut water with aloe yesterday, and then used the same mixture to water, but I added a pinch of biozeus to what went in the soil. I took about 10 oz of ro water and sliced about 4 inches worth of a thick spear of aloe into it and brought it to a boil. After about 3 min I took it off, strained it and cooled it down in a sink full of cold water. I added 22 oz of coconut water to that and used it as the spray. This morning when I checked they were praying to the light :vibe:.

I use no drainage layer, never have. Its actually an impediment to the wicking of the soil.

I did try it and found my soil stays moist all the way to the surface without the so called drainage material in the bottom. I've also never had root issues either.

Sweet. Next time I will defiantly give that a try. And thank you for the tip on transitioning into turning the pots on. I will be heading up to Salem for the eclipse and should be able to fire the pots up once I get back. I am hoping for somewhere around the 21 day mark.

So if I follow you (and I want to be sure I do) if I have auto's on a 20/4 lighting schedule, darkness still needs to be maintained completely for the 4 hours, correct? Obviously, it would be much easier to find a 4 or 6 hour block of time where the tent would be undisturbed as opposed to 12hrs.
