Hey all - trying to dial in the best PH levels for my autopots. I have a PH controller so it can be set to whatever I like without drift. I've heard from everyone and their mother (including the breeder from Exotic Genetix) to keep it at 5.8 for coco/perlite, but autopot themselves recommends 5.5-5.6.
Is there a reason there is such a difference?
If you had a controller what would you set it to?

Hi Iggy - Coco nutrinet uptake range is between 5.5-6.5, and if you were to gradually swing your ph through the entire grow from low to high, you'd probably be absoultely fine. However - most nute avalabilty falls firmly at 5.8, so it's easy to set it and froget it. It saves a bit of messing about.
If you're new to growing - make it easy and choose 5.8
If you wanna try omething more advance, here's the chart you need for nute avalability

That's what I thought, I just didn't know why autopots say to set at 5.5-5.6 - thanks for the detailed answer.

Just to second what Blue said - 5.8 is the easy answer for Coco, I do allow mine to go from 5.8 to 6.2 though
