I’m week 4 in to flower with Humboldt chemdawg fems and have noticed 2 nanners on one of my girls and an empty seed pod and nanner on another which I removed. I had some Optic Foliar Switch and transport laying around just in case as a previous plant hermied on me which I gave my girls a good soaking with, I’ll be checking for light leak tomorrow morning hopefully this will stop the Hermies.

Has anyone in the group ever used Optic Foliar Switch could give me some advice let me know how it works for them as there is sweet F all review wise online.

Any help appreciated don’t want to ruin these chemdawgs they are so dense and stinky as hell

Haven’t used Switch but I’ve used Overgrow and I love it. Hope you get an answer soon and your ladies are fine...

Same as above. I make my own using their concentrates and their products seem to work. Haven’t had to use the switch or atak yet.

Have done quite a bit of looking and digging on that product, will be putting a bottle on my shelf, but, if your already in flower, and seeing manners, your past the application period.

From what I've seen and read, it's a prevention, not a cure....

Ive started to keep a diary of my grows so I can learn from mistakes. And I just found it again I lost it for a few days , I put it down after a big old stardawg spliff and forgot where I put it :-D reading back I First used the product on day 7 of flower and I think 17 but not sure as I didn’t write it down any way on day 30 my PH pen was dodgey and didn’t have the sachets to calibrate it . It was giving the wrong reading and I couldn’t know at the time had my suspicions tho it’s all sorted I have two now to check against each other . also my temps at lights off went down to 14 for about 10 hrs while I was out otherwise I’d of put heater on . After both fuck ups the day later I had the nanners I picked them off and gave it a good soaking with the switch and none since I’ve inspected a lot ! Do you think that it was the stress and shock that of shit PH with nutes and cold at same time sent the plants into survival mode and sent out nanners ? Basically I’m just hoping somebody will say “don’t worry you should be fine now happened to me once “ but guess I’ll have to wait and see .

Yeah... I think your in a wait and see position...very possible you stressed them to the point of trying to survive...
At least at the end, you'll be able to give us all an answer! :pighug:

Fingers crossed!

UPDATE: foliar switch by optic .

Very close to harvest now and other then a few half formed seeds I picked out and a few nanners it seems to have worked
And it definitely speeds up your harvest time by at least a week as stated , I’ve never seen buds so dense in my life like the Chemdawg by humboltd seeds (uploading pics and review in couple weeks) I’ve had to support all 8 colar on all 3 of my mainlined plants that’s 24 resin soaked monsters leaning over from its own weight

I’d sprayed at day 7 and 17 of flower as precaution but then screwed up my nutes which then made one panic and send out a few nanners .
I caught the nanners just as the were visible plucked them out and give it a heavy spray then week later did the same again amazing results would definitely recommend.ive had to sit and watch my plants hermie before leaving me with 100s of seeds and it’s horrible but not anymore Whoop whoop

Hi Guys,
Sorry for the late reply the Admins at AFN let me know to jump on to answer these questions as well as making a plan to come on at least monthly to answer questions.

Chem dog, yes very prone to hermies and seeding.

Switch can be used early to prevent seeds and hermies or can be used almost any time in flower to get rid of seeds and hermies. I say almost any time as I would not recommend people use it in the last week or so as the damage is pretty much done and its too late to fix it and get any quality weed from the plant. However if you are on week 4/5 then no problem. Even week 6-7 if you are on a long 9 week strain.

What I like to recommend is to use on day 1 & 10 of flower. this will prevent the plant from seeding and herming out. will put the plant into flower overnight so you should see bud sets in 7/8 days rather than 11/12. Also will help to reduce stretch by about a quarter.
By using Switch early and preventing problems a cool side effect is that it cannot see or hermie even if exposed to pollen. the result is the plant is and will stay female and must then produce weight and oil in order to catch pollen that we have blocked and continue to block. The result is more weight and quality.

Im trying to upload a info sheet with more detailed info and instructions, but the file size is too big. Any help on uploading a pdf?
