This has come to be one of many of my favorite properties of Mephisto strains. 2 for 2 I was almost positive I would have tiny little popcorn buds at the bottom of this tall plant. Nope, with or without light reaching these bottom buds refuse to lose. I know my light penetration can't be that good. The lights are 16 inches above a 25 inch plant so probably 36 inches or so from the bottom buds and they still produce. I'll take some pictures of the bottom buds and post them tomorrow. For now just a plant shot and some more frosty goodness.
Day 60 I may not be looking hard enough but I still don't see even a speck of Amber on the main cola. Even though the main cola doesn't have any Amber it is almost pure cloudy. I will most likely take the main cola down tomorrow or Saturday. I'm going to leave the rest of the plant untill probably eleven weeks. It may sound stupid to take the main down at a crucial time when it will still double in size but I won't risk the chance of rot on her. That main top bud is like a freaking moon rock! Dense as could be and FAT! Probably the fattest cola I've had to date. She's almost as wide as my solo cup I'm using for the grow off. My humidity gets up to a whooping 70% rh when lights out so that's just begging for mold. I'll try to only take the upper most part down so the rest can mature longer.
That's what I originally planned to do but even with lights on its around 55-60 and its supposed to rain five out of seven days this week! My sour crack got bud rot around 45-50 percent or less humidity. Luckily for me the cola is more of a cluster of buds separated all except the top four inches or so.
Ive never tried it, but you could probably thin individual buds off the center stem in the cola to open it up and provide more airflow in the dense areas....
I have 3 lol idk what's going on even with my dehumidifier it won't budge. Any other room in the house will get down to 40 rh but that darn room won't go below 50 haha

Chopped the top off you can see where I left part of the cola on. All I can say is holy shit this smell is amazing! It smells a lot like sour crack but with a very strong grapefruit lemony smell instead of skunk. I definatley still smell the sour part of it. I don't really understand the diesel smell because I never had sour diesel before so I couldn't say if it smells like diesel or "fuel". I can't stop sniffing my fingers though. It was so frosty it's hard to see where the buds and sugar leafs meet when trimming upside down. My fingers are stuck together like super glue. You guys just don't understand how hard it was for me to not take the rest of the cola down! I was seriously seriously debating it. The small portion of the cola that I did take weighed about 20 grams wet and I didn't weigh the other golf ball nug with it so probably with both of them about 7 grams dry and that's only about the top three inches. The rest are separated and not conjoined as a huge cola so I will leave those to mature another 2 weeks to bring it to 11 weeks. Thank you @mephisto for making this amazing cross. I cant wait for the rest of the plant to mature! And boy am I glad I pollinated her.
Although I don't feel she is completely ready I think I'm going to take her Monday. It seems like a lot of the buds as demonstrated in the last picture almost look like they are trying to reveg. They're all getting really skinny and growing up. I can't have that lol. Anyway taking part of the cola off has showed the true meaning of a white Christmas lol those things are just dripping and oozing trichomes on the top.
