Well, this month is the year anniversary from when I started growing cannabis. I started growing autos around last June or so. When new folk start growing there's definitely a learning curve, especially if your middle name is "experimentation" like mine is. I've tried so many different setups from super soil to just promix and hydro nutes, to low pressure aero/nft, to DWC, and my next move will be Under Current, which is where I'll stay. Have I seen perfect grows? IMO, not yet. Have I done bang up jobs? I've certainly had some great medicine produced and patients seem to like it enough to talk with others in the community about my grows, so that's always nice.

Biggest things I've learned? Feed low, feed sea salt, don't buy expensive bottled nutes, and use aerated teas whether you're in pure hydro or soil. The tea is the biggest thing for me. I add my salt to the teas now instead of to my nute soup. Bennie teas have been a huge blessing in ridding myself of root rot and slime and growing some amazing looking roots. I don't go a watering without it.

How long have you been growing, and what are some of the biggest things you've been learning about? I don't care if you've been growing for a month or 20 years... I just love to hear feedback.

1 year down, plenty more to go.

tmm, for only one year you have sucked up knowledge like a sponge! and i can personaly attest to that. on these local forums and on afn you shine!:buds:some of your bud shots are some of the best on the local fourum, and on afn. ihave had a few outdoor grows over the years, but only two inside grows, so i am still a learning noob! but i have no complaints about what i have grown and tmm has helped me more than a few times!!

Thanks :) Your current grow is really fantastic. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how it ends up for you!

growing autos for six months and still learning.1.Pick a strain that is known for high yield.2.Use top quality soil like ffof or promix that have the mycorise growth stimulant in it.3.Use at least a three gallon pot to give roots plenty of room.4.Feed at every watering with half strength nutes.Start with as many lights as you canand the right spectrum for veg and flower. There are still more that i have learned but these are the most important ones that i have learned.

I have been gardening for as long as I can remember. I swear the only reason my parents had me was to work the garden and mow grass for them and my grandparents. Haha. So growing came pretty easy for me. I sometimes forget people didn't have the same experience, since it is a pretty common thing around here. I grew the seeds out of the first bag of brush I ever bought at 15, grew for about the next 8 years, some years plants numbering in the hundreds. Once I grew up my job kept me from growing. I was on the road all the time. Now I'm back home and indoors for the last three years.

When I hit the Internet. I was like holy shite Muslim. Things have changed. I was lucky to get my hands on a hightimes mag back in the early 90's. So many different nutes, soil, genetics. So confusing. Weird to me. This additive adds 10%, those microbes add 15% , a couple good bulbs can add 20% and so on and so on. Somebody somewhere is growing plants like a 1000 times bigger then everybody else, but I can't find no pics of them.

The number one thing I have learned is, don't believe the hype. Just grow baby.

SEA SALT? Like from the grocery store? Why?

over 80 trace minerals and nutrients... the sea is natures "nutrient solution" think of all the nutrients from all over the world collected in one body...

Like how much? I got some killer Italian Sea Salt the other day at the $ store.....

how much use or how much minerals? lol

I add about 1/2 tsp per gallon to mu compost teas.... I know TMM has run some incredibly high salinity levels and had excellent results...

He'll chime in in a bit I'm sure.. :toke: He's more familiar.... I've added it as a regiment.... I'm organic in soil.... I also use it in foliar feeds... :toke:
very light in those...
tiny little pinch in a quart... tiny pinch..

Has anyone used this?
Reading about salt on this thread and since I have it in my cupboard I thought I'd ask.
