Ok I've posted already on my germination struggles as of late. I'm not a top notch pro grower but I've germinated probably about 20 or more bag seed in the past and all with 100%!! Seeds from good bud to swag, didnt matter, 100% germ rate within 48hrs to 72 hrs tops. I finally order some high quality seeds (purple ryder) from a legit source (attitude seeds, from joint doc) and it has been terrible. Originally germed 6 in WPPT and 2 cracked, planted them and so far only 1 sprouted! I'm now trying my luck with germing the remainng 4, its been 48hrs and not a sign of cracking on any and doesnt look like there will be.

I mean i really dont think its what im doing b/c ive had 100% success before. The seeds very in size a bit, id say in general they're all medium just under medium size and most a dark brownish. I dont know Im just frustrated right now. I should have gave them the finger squeeze test to see if they crushed before i started germing to see if they were bad initially.

First thing.. take a breather, vv. You're not the first this has happened to and you won't be the last, and it probably won't be the last time it happens to you either.

I've always had 100% germ rate in under 48hrs until a biodiesel mass I germed a week or so ago. She's only JUST cracked and I've had to help her get out of the shell.

I've never had to wait a whole week for a seed to sprout.. never!! But, my point is that she has finally sprouted and may survive yet.

I know it may sound silly.. but things like cigarette smoke on our finger that day may have gotten onto the seed and slowed its development, or it may just be a particular batch of seeds that take a long time, or even a physical shock she received somewhere along the line, or just bad genetics etc etc blah blah.

My overall point is that there is nothing you can do about it so try and relax. I know how you feel.. lots of us do.. but don't let it get to you or you won't enjoy growing.

:peace:

I have 100% germ rate with joint doc. About 20 seeds. I dont know if that batch has something to it or if your doing it wrong?

Are you keeping them in the dark, and a little warm?I just had a problem with ak47 seed .I only got one of them out of five to germ, but all five of my c.caramel germed.I know how you feel because I was doing a little experimenting but now that went down the shitter.Better days will come.

I use wet cotton. Your temp should be over room temp. I put them over my fridge so they get about 26-27 celcius.

24h-72h to germ

48 hours is way too soon to be pissed duder, plants do things on their own schedule. if you plant them and none crack and sprout after five or six days then you get pissed.

If you really feel that it's bunk seeds and not your germ methods then get a hold of the Tude' and tell them. More than likely they'll replace them. I just had a bunk order of jems from seedbay and they're replacing them free of charge or shipping.

I use the shot glass method and have never had an issue.

Feminized seeds are not as reliable as regular seeds so if you use them expect that not all your seeds will germinate also I prefer to use the shot glass method because you can see the activity without physically touching the seed , Big Buddha is totally right when handling seed the stuff on our fingers can really mess up the seed so always use sterile gloves and when you place it in the darkness do not sneak a peak before 48hr period is over either the light may mess with germination.

why are you germing seeds in the dark? a seed outdoors in the soil has quite afew hours of sunshine even before they break the surface, i guess i am confused. i keep a single 6500k cfl and a2700k cfl on my germinating seeds on a 14/10 cycle like nature, i have germed quit a few times, mostly photos this way and some autos and have a 100% germ rate:2cents::peace:
