Dinafem OG Kush

@Loud Pipes I have an OG Kush from Dinafem going currently. https://www.autoflower.org/threads/og-kush-narcotherapy-and-sweet-soma-hydro-grow.50037/ It is probable half way through its' life cycle. Maybe less. It has been very slow to bloom. It is trying to get huge. I have trained its' main stalk into an S, and am weaving its' arms back into itself.
Hey Thanks Hal! I'm going to watch your grow. Looks good! How many days old are they now? My beans should be here sometime this week

Thank you. They are about two months old. I keep them in vegetative growth as long as possible. It makes them so much more productive later.

I totally agree, If growing a photoperiod strain then the more veg time, training etc the better your end yield will be :toke:

All the best

D-M.

It is an auto OG kush. You can keep autos in veg a little longer than usual. If you know how to give the ideal conditions. You have to give it plenty of fertilizer early, and keep the lights bright. It can keep them from blooming, for a week or two longer. That lets the roots get big enough to support a huge bloom cycle.

I would like to hear more about this .

I have noticed that when I hit the autos with plenty of fertilizer early, and close bright light. I mean close too. I keep my leds about six inches over my plants. You will have to move the light up daily. When they hit fast veg and the stretch. They take longer to get to the blooming phase. Then when they do, I have been having everyone of them finish at no shorter then 3 feet. Some have been going over four feet, which I do not like. My test tent is 5 feet tall. It is well worth the extra time.

Simply amazing Hal

I go with the thinking that ideal conditions will, make it feel safe enough to not need to rush. If they are having any sort of shortage, they feel threatened, and need to hurry up and reproduce.
Jorge Cervantes also talks about how photos will take a week longer if grow only on HPS vs MH, but the harvest is increased by more than a weeks worth. Lights with plenty of red wavelengths, seem to be a tool for encouraging that. Any led panel, hps, or warm cfl should meet the bill.

I also make sure to not give bloom boosters, until I see the first hairs. It needs lots of phosphorus for great root development, but not bloom booster. That will make start to flower earlier. I usually start them under a simple table lamp with a cfl. I just raise them up on some books, or something. That way I also do not have to use my tent for babies. Lets it be a bloom chamber almost.
