Just a random question, I know autos are accepting to just about any lighting schedule and I have been running my 4 girls on a 18/6 but is there any effect on the plants if that schedule changes often?. There has been times that I fell asleep before I shut my lights off (I know I can get a timer lol). I haven’t done that often but I was just wondering if a extremely erratic lighting schedule would mess with autos.

In my experience yes especially come flower I had plants hermie on me when I lighting issue's in late flower... IMO a timer is a MUST or just run 24/0 but i prefer and think plants need a rest time also benefit from it even auto's

I run 18/6 currently but have run and harvested on 24/0 DLI is what matter's

I am the same way and believe that they benefit from some darkness. I am new to this and it’s my first grow so I have to ask, what is hermie?.

There are a few things that can cause it but it is when a female plant puts out pollen sacks/ nanners in a last ditch effect to pollenate itself

Simple answer... buy that timer!

As long as your lights are not coming on during the lights out period in flower then chances of herming are slim. Slightly erratic lighting schedule during veg are not as harm full as you may think. My veg room can run from 18/6 to 24hrs depending if I've got clones going or not. I've yet to see any issues wile in veg when I leave my cloneing light on (my main light in my veg space is always on a 18/6 cycle).
I mainly run photos but I do have autos in my veg room and have had no issues with the random changes from 18/6 to 24hrs wile they have been in flower.

Buy that timer.

I haven't noticed any problems due to lighting schedule getting a little off...I removed the timer and just turn em on when I get up and turn em off when I go to bed. Schedule is on between 4am and 6 am and off around 10 pm to 12 pm.....have only had one pollen problem and that was more genetics issue during testing....
