Hi growers!

1st grow, 4 plants in a 2'x2.5' tent. I have an intake fan and an exhaust fan (with active charcoal filter on the exhaust), which we have in a large walk-in closet. The wifey is complaining about the odor when the tent is open (2x/day for feeding/maintenance). She's particularly concerned about clothes absorbing the weed smell.

I've purchased some Ona Gel, and I also have an ozone generator from a "mouse incident" a few years ago. I was thinking about hanging the ozone generator in the tent, and turn it on (remotely) for 5-10 minutes before I open the tent, and run it for another 5-10 mins after I close it back up.

Is there any issue with the ozone affecting the grow?

I will sound like an asshole.
But hear me out.
You system is most probably working very well without oder.
What she smells is more in her mind than in the air.

That said.
Do not use the ozone generator in the tent.
Use it 5 minutes before outside the tent.
That will trick her nose into not smelling F'ing anything for 1/2 hour.
If your filter is less than 2 years old, or 3 grows of 10 plants each ( 30 in all in 2 years).
It is still very good for another grow.
The problem is not the plants, the smell or the open tent for 30 minutes.
Just read between the lines.
All will be fine.

Thanks, I suspect you may be very accurate, but as a noob I thought best to solicit some expert advice! :)

My wife might be part blood hound but she can tell (during flower) when I have had the tent open before she even gets in the house! Truth be told so can I. Ozone is bad for the plant so don't put it in the tent. Do not use Ona either it can ruin your bud. My exhaust system vents outdoors so I run it on high when opening the tent and close the door on the room. Then if they are really stinky (to my wife) plants I have a 6" fan on a can in the room. It can clear it in minutes.

I speak only for myself.
Expert, no...by far.
EXPERIENCED..ah yeah...plenty with life.
Many find the oder of cannabis foul.
So can 1 million other things in life.
All is relative.

I tend to agree. If there's already a filter i doubt the strong smell.

@ms48130 just a little bit of advice don't have that onablock in your room or tent as it can make your weed smell of it i use that in the hall just don't put it in with your plants

I was aware of not putting it in the tent, but I didn't know that outside tent but in same room would cause an issue. I may not have a choice because wifey is concerned about clothes hanging in the closet (tent is in closet). I already got the Ona, and I leave the foil on it (slight opening) and just take of the cap while the tent is open. Maybe I should do the cap removal AFTER the tent is closed back up?
