Ocean Forest OR Happy Frog???

I started out with FFOF and never really had many issues aside from the occasional nitrogen toxicity. I know a lot of people have had issues with it but I never really had anything but good luck. That being said I don't use it anymore, I've moved into biobizz light mix. I'm currently doing a run with that, some grow dots and compost teas and they are doing wonderful. Really loving the soil! Perfect for a neutral soil to start with.

I used Ocean Forest for a few years, then switched to a different Fox Farm product that I used for a long time. The last several bags have caused a pain in the backside. I am changing to Coast of Maine Stonington.

how far back did you use FFOF? I’m seeing in a lot of places that the formula (or something else) has changed in the past few years and a lot more people are noticing nitro burn. What was the other FF soil you used?

If I could only get one it would be FFHF, but I would prefer to use both. Bottom half and around the sides would be FFOF and the Happy Frog in the upper half center to keep the seedling and young veg plant happy.

It was recently, within the last year. OF was the only one I ever used.

Give my brain a minute to un-fuzz and calculate. I have to Jethro Bodine it.15 years back.

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking of doing! I have been using Jiffy Peat Pellets buried in the center of the FFOF in the same manner as you had described, and it does ok. I think the mycorrhizae content in HF would be really beneficial to the younger roots too.
