Day 19.

Got bored. No gender showing yet, so I decided to try topping these four. Pictures next time I visit the garden. All have four nodes already, so it seemed like a good time. And according to the seed producers, this strain loves being topped.

We shall see.

Day 21

No gender showing yet, which is possibly a good sign, as this strain seems to show male really quickly. Cuts where they were topped are all healed up and the plants are continuing growing.

Here is my call...

Mr Yellow, Mrs. White, Mrs. Pink, and while not floppy yet, Mr. Blue. So, if that's right, 50/50 M/F.

Day 23

Genders confirmed. Mr Yellow and Mr Blue both culled. Mrs White and Mrs Pink are showing preflowers. Sprayed the room and all plants and all sides just in case any pollen has made it's way into the room. If they hold the same time frame as the last female, ~50 days till harvest.

Down to Mrs White and Mrs Pink. I must have topped Mrs White too far down, as nothing is really moving in the cola area, so I chopped half a node down as the two branches below were already as high as the top of the plant, which was doing nothing other than shading the rest of the plant. Mrs Pink appears to be doing better but is still slow in the cola department. If it doesn't show any real movement I'll chop the top with her too.

Also started three more seeds, same strain.

Without DRAMATICALLY increased gains, I will not be topping this strain again. Mrs White has shot up almost 8 inches taller than Mrs Pink, and I had to tie her down this morning because she was too close to the lights. Both, exact same conditions, just one decided to bolt upright. For this strain I will definitely do more LST and defoliation, and skip this whole topping ordeal.

Day 32

MASSIVE growth on both ladies. Mrs White accepted her fate of being tied down and the canopy is basically even now.

And yes I'm using the residual light to grow my garden seedlings. It's all just pkants, right?
