Hey guys and gals, I'm on my first grow and have a question I've not seen answered elsewhere (if it has been, forgive me). I have 4 plants growing right now - Autobomb, Auto Anesthesia, Dr. Feelgood, and Auto Skunk - and they are in soil under a 400 Watt MH lamp. I recently added 4, 250-Watt (equivalent power) CFL lights in the flowering spectrum to help with the flowering stage. Is it OK to mix these lights leaving the MH on AND the CFL lights all at the same time for a "mixed spectrum" of light? TIA for your help and suggestions! :peace:

Usually you should go with all blue spectrom for vegging but if thats all you have it should be ok.:peace:

Thank you Namvet25... I failed to mention I am in the flowering stage right now - pistils are popping out all over the plants - which is why I added the 2700 Kelvin lights. Is it OK to leave the "blue" MH running too for extra light running alongside the 4 CFL "yellow" bulbs? TIA!

I use cfl's and run some 2700k along with 6500k so I think you will be alright running both those lights.:smokebuds:

Hey Medic I dont think it really matters if you mix different lights together as long as they are all flowering lights if that is in the stage they are in. I run the same as Namvet, cfls, mine are mixed with 6500 and 2700 until they are in full flower, then I switch them all to 2700s. One Love and hope this helps ya a little

that sounds fine, MH is supposed to be better at crystal production due to the UV and ive seen people do very well using only blue the whole grow. red is good for flower/bud production, mixed is best imo you get the best of both worlds. but if you have a hps bulb/ballast it might be an idea to swicth out the MH when the plants full on budding(vert growth stopped just bulking out).

sounds good to me anyway.

plants will use what ever you give them whether you mix them or not

WOW! This forum rocks! Thanks to each and every one of you who took the time to help me with my question. If there is any interest, I can post pix of my setup (very crude and basic - I live overseas in SE Asia and don't have the material resources to make a professional grow room) and plants for you to see and comment on just let me know. Thanks again everyone!
