Not new to growing so much as I am to scrogging. My last time I did 2 layers, 1 about a foot from base of plants and another about 10" higher. But it was lose and spaced 6" squares. Its a good thing I did the 2nd layer because they needed the support lol. However this time, I had a one built. Its sits roughly a foot from the base and is 4 inch square. These girls about 2 weeks into flowering and this is what have below. My question is, when do I know when to stop spreading them out? Do I just do a set amount of distance? Or should I wait until like a magic number of weeks into flower? Just any feed back from anyone who has great experience with scrogging is appreciated. Thanks Everyone!

looks good to me typically a plant keeps stretching for 3 to four weeks after you see the buds forming so while this is happening you can keep tuking branches when it comes to defoil id take it easy since its your first grow maybe just remove some of the bigger fan leaves that are blocking some light but no need to go nuts just yet she should fill out nicely good luck with the rest of your grow

U prob should also look from bottom side and all the secondary branching either below net or looking wimpy and too far from light to be worth anything g chop it off! It’ll help u see on the main branches what needs to be trimmed or tucked! BUT TO ANSWER QUESTION FROM CHAT I HAD TO STOP SPREADING MINE WHEN DAMN BRANCHES WERE TOO TLL TO TUCK BACK UNDER
THE NET! I only have 1 net tho I made so instead of making an upper net I just supercropped mine to spread it out more!

Yea, I hate cutting my babies. So what I do is every day I'll take a few more of the underlings and just haven't cleared it all out yet. I guess what has me on the fence is my original idea was to interlace them. ( Pain in the ass when both headers are right at that point when they are crossing) but as they start to stack, I feel like if I keep tucking, I will have my headers growing sideways through netting vs stacking like I want them too. So I guess I was wondering if someone had a magical formula to a beautiful Scrog lol.

Also mine I just had to supercrop em since only the 1 net so I could spread it out some more! Next run I can split the side rails with a t connector pvc so I can add 2nd set of posts to add a top net. Mine had wimpy stems so sprayed with potassium silicate foliar and then got lil too strong to try bending them back under the 1 net! U with 2 tho as it is thru 1st net u can still spread lil wider with placement in the upper net!
And my girl was sad in that pic cuz had just gave giant haircut of fan leafs and secondary branching that was not gonna get ideal light! Def multiple ways to make the net work!

Ah no. I dont have 2 nets anymore. Let me find some pics. My last grow had 2 floppy nets. This one has 1 solid net.

Old set up- (2) 6" wide lose nets

New- (1) 4" wide tight net

This is mine 12hrs later so they perk right back up after u chop on em! Better to do at once than spread the stress out but that’s just my opinion!
