Hello there to you all, first off this site has given me a good amount of info. So now I want to try my hands on my 1st auto flower. I am located in California and it's currently cold weather with short daylight.
So here's my plan,
I want to grow Big Bud strain (auto flower) in a 10×10 GH and planting the seeds in a 15 gal bucket.
Advice anyone?[emoji85]

Hi j.mam! Welcome bro. What light will you use? Soil or hydro? You said 15 gal. bucket?
GH stands for greenhouse? Then you mean no light added, just natural? How many daylight hours? Please clarify
Cheers!

Thanks for the welcome bushdktr,
Ok so I'm planning on using 15g buckets & filling them with coco soil. The strain I'm going for now is 2 fast 2 vast (autoflower), It will be done on a greenhouse.
The reason why I mentioned lights is because right now we have short day light.

OK, you know Canna loves light, so your yield will depend on the amount of hours & light you have. Autos can grow perfectly even using a 24 hour light schedule with no lights off!! So you'll prolly need light supplementation if you want good results.
Not experienced with coco, but lots of people love it here! You need to use ferts with coco 'cause it's almost like hydro growing.

Ok, so I should just maintain it at 1 light schedule during the whole grow? Maybe 18/18?
I was thinking for the light suplimentation just to hang some regular spot lights, would that do the trick?

Welcome. If on a budget I would at least go with some CFL lights run on a 24/0 schedule. They are cheap and can be found at most hardware stores or ordered online. I use marshydro LED personally but started with CFL'S. I used a large dome reflector like you would have with a heat lamp and put a 4-way bulb adapter in it with four 40w cfl bulbs in the 6500k color spectrum for veg and 2700k for bloom. Due some research into lighting and it will pay off in the end. Also research what nutrients you want to use with coco. I know Advanced Nutrients carries a line specifically designed for coco but I have not used it as I grow with Promix HD.
Do a little more searching and get your plan dialed in and you will do great. There is a lot of info here on coco growing so I am confident you will find your answers. Happy New Year and happy growing, you're going to have a blast.

You don't want to use flood lights. You need certain lights. Floods and regular bulbs don't work good. T5s and CFLs work great though. I would use some good organic soil. If done right you can go a full grow with out checking PH or feeding. I would check out the organic section and read up. Makes growing simple and easy once you figure it out.
