New Grower New start...

Ok, since the seed wasn't germinating, I gived it a little shock treatment:


I scuffed the seed but a hard inner shell was remaining, so I softly pinched the tip of the seed until I feeled it pop open, saturated again the paper towels and put it on top of an electronic device that is pretty hot.

After all this I was afraid that I may have gone to far, but after 3 hours I checked it and a litlle fat root tip was showing.

Report Day 4:

Since the root tip was showing I planted the seed in earth, so no picture to show today.
I toked the decision to plant it so soon because I don't have a lot of experience, so the sonner I plant it the less I will stress the roots and to stunt the seed.

The next couple of days should be pretty stressful for me, not being able to see the seed development and at every time expecting to see the seedling head crack the surface of the pot.

Autos have a tap root and prefer deeper pots. A 1-2 gallon pots are not too big for a PC grow if you use LST to train it to grow more horizontally than vertically and will give more room for the tap root to grow.

Ok, so would I be good with a 2L shallow tray instead of a deep one, my main concern is the height of the pot since my pc tower is not very tall.

Report Day 5:

The seed has not yet cracked the surface, temps have gone down this last couple of days, it's arround 18° C, that's like 64° F. Hope this low temps don't stunt to much seed growth.

Need to get your temps up. Seeds need mid to high 70s to germinate.

Report Day 6:

Good news, the seed is starting to be visible on the surface of the pot. Still having some problems to manage the low temps in my room.

First time I actually manage to germinate a seed, so this is already a success for me

Still no pictures, but I'll post pictures updates as soon as the colideon leaves open.

Hello everybody,

Today is a special day for me since it's my birthday.

I am from the south of europe and here it's a lot easyer to find marrocan hash than it is to find homegrown MJ, but for this day I managed to get my hands on a eighth of "Lemon Skunk" (of the photo-sensible kind, not auto).

I had the opportunity to see it grow, it was cultivated in soil from (Fem.) seeds to bud (no mothers or clones taken) with BioBizz feeding under a 600 W HPS on a small 1 square meter grow area.

It was a shame no mothers were keeped because one of the 10 seeds has a very distinctive taste (not so much lemony taste as the others yet more satisfactory).

The seed is now totaly out of the ground but still hasn't losed is shell.
The weather has been improving since yestetday and as warmed a bit

Repory Day 8:

Hurray, the seed shell has finaly fallen. The colideon leaves are still closed, but I expect them to be open by tomorow.
Temps have stabilized a bit.

If I get it right, the seed is now leaving germination stage and entering seedling stage. Germination toke longer than I thought, at the start at was expecting that by this time it would already have is first set of true leaves.
