Hi AFN I am a new member looking for some input on lighting. I have a 480w led quantum board above these girls and i'm getting around 11500 lux at the seedlings is that to much or to little at this point? Plants seem to be stretching to fast at 8000 lux, also is it necessary to lower the light to a height of 36". The led fixture is dimmable so I didn't see a need to lower the light if I can control the lux at a height of 4'.

i would just lower your light slightly growbro my sanlights aren't dimmable but i just lower mine on yoyo hangers also they don't look to leggy to me

Lux is a measurement that applies to humans rather than plants. Companies offer PPFD charts that show the amount of photons hitting a plant at different heights.

If you have a link to your light I can probably give you the appropriate height to start with fairly easily. Rather than dimming you want to adjust the height as it improves the life of the diodes and driver.

The left report is at 20 inches and the right is at 24 inches. I would raise the light to 32-36 inches.
