New Grower New Grower Tangerine Dream

@Jc420bigbud I've heard this before. Not saying it won't work and actually kinda interested. Not sure if I'll ever do it but even though it speeds the process up how does it effect the bud swelling? Does it just make them plant amber up quicker without letting the buds swell or does the buds swell just the same with the ambering. Just curious is all since trichome ambering is considered when the buds are afrer peak ripeness and you start losing potency because the thc is getting converted into cbn.
Im not sure how it all works I do know that after I do it and its usually in the last 3 weeks of bud the plant starts to chug water I also start my flush at the same time last 3 weeks my buds swell super fast get super frosty and it just seems to work. It was a big deal back in like the 80's for techniques to use it has died off over the years but I usually end up with buds the size of my arm or my fist so it dont seem to bother any aspect of that. Their is a little bit of information on the technique on the net but not much not many people use it or agree with it I just tried it and it worked for me so I use it. Lots of ways to grow its all fun playing around with your grow technique and tuning it in trying different things its fun!

Thanks for the reply on this. As long as the buds swell and all that then i may try this and if it works it works. Have you ever done a side by side test jw? One with the cut one without?

I've done both cut down at peak potency and waited till the buds got more ripened and dence and I will never cut down early again. Yes the bud might be a little stronger at all cloudy but your loosing out on so much weight and slower burning better terp profile smoke. For a long long time I always obsessed over trichome color and cut when the trichs where all cloudy and 10% amber. You get a stronger head high but it dosent last as long and the bud burns very fast. Sometimes you get lucky and have peak density and cloudy trichs at the same time but more often than not they are cloudy way to soon for harvest. Now I don't even look at trichomes until I'm satisfied with my density first. Most growers cut autos down way way way to soon. Yes you might loss a tiny bit of potency but that's a small sacrifice to make for having 2 to 3 times the weight and density. Bottom line the longer the wait the more you get within reason.

How much longer you think I got @Tyler_Durden88? Is my trim job better?

Haha it’s a new high stress technique — “stabbing “ :amazon:
Their are a number of different techniques I use to push along the last couple of weeks to get to harvest quicker! One good one is Stalk splitting I actually take a knife and at the base of the stalk I jab the knife through it and I insert a couple of tooth picks through the stalk to hold the opening. This harms the plant and causes it to heighten its natural defenses which causes it to speed up and actually increase its THC and Tric production which are the plants defenses Increases dark time in the last week will aslo aid in speeding up the plants finish. Now this is just from my research and these are not proven techniques but from my experience I find it to help me quite a bit indoors. Not everyone will agree with me on this and thats ok Im just saying it works for me.

People do other things too along these same lines. Periods of darkness and/or very low temperatures. Kind of cool.

Oh yea looks like you took just the right amount of leaves off not to much not to little. You look like your a bit past mid flower but your getting alot more yield than average with them taking a bit longer. I'd drop the humidity down to around 40% and light off temps 3-5 degrees over the next few days to increase resin production and give her a sighn it's time to start shutting it down. When she's ready there shouldn't be hardly any white hairs left. Right now she's still growing and focusing on making bigger budsites when she's done with that the hairs will start to curl inward and that's when you will start to see her get fat and dence. But overall the plants look great man you got bright future growing some top notch smoke. There's nothing like Growing Grade A bud. Once you catch the bug it's hard to shake it. Idk if I could ever stop I love it so much.

Here are a lot more photos! Taste is probably the most important thing to me but I do want potency as well. I trust your experience for sure I just want to try and get an idea when I might need to stop feeding. I don't even know how quickly the trichs change typically. I think more density and weight would be worth the wait. How much potency is lost? Are we talking just a little or are we going from top shelf closer to CBD?
