Hello beautifull people,

I'am planning to grow something else that tomatoes this summer, and think this the perfect place to have some doubts answered. I thought about trying some autoflowering strain (back when I last checked about cannabis only the lowryder was out).

I would like to grow them outdoor with the following set up:
2 seeds of cream mandarine
2 seeds of cream mandarine XL
4 black geotextil pot of 25L
Bioz bizz all mix for the soil (maybe one pot will have some cheapo lidl soil just to experiment)
Nutes i'am not sure yet since i have never used them for any kind of growing, but I was thinking on root juice and bio bloom (flowering) as apparently the soil should be enough for the 2x days of the vegetative phase.

Ideally i would sow them end of may for them to benefit of the maximum daylight time (and less rain, even in spain :p).

My doubts are the germinating process, i was thinking on putting the seeds on Jiffy directly, or not sure if it is better to use the moist paper technique then the jiffy and finally in pot.

As well do you think it is wise to use these pot https://eurogrow.es/macetas/2472-tex-pot-macetas-de-tela-blancasnegras.html in black during the summer month or they will dry out very quickly outside ?

So yeah basically just wondering if the pots are a good idea for outdoor growing during the warmest month, and if the germinating process is sound or could it be even easier?

thanks

Welcome @ztam - you can germinate in your kitchen, paper towel is simplistic and fool proof if your seeds are growers.
Jiffys are good too, but with the towel method, you can aim the root when planting: when you plant seed it can sometimes get turned about. Not a major issue but a risk (I avoid).
Nice line up you have and if your smart you'll get planted quickly to make the most of the Spanish sun...
Btw I use Grow & Bloom from biobiz. Nice n simple does its job well.

And the fabric pots are a great idea: they will air prune the roots for better plant health.

Germing a seed is the easiest part of growing....at least IMO. All mix an be a bit hot for seedlings but good for mature plants. Perhaps layering would be beneficial. Personally, I germ the simplest. I germ in biobizz light mix, place seed 1/2" down in moistened mix, cover, place on heat mat. 100% can't be improved on.
I grow in 2-3 ltr pots....biobizz light mix all the way...di water for first couple weeks while vegging under t5, 24/0...then bio grow and bio bloom at 1/4 strength as plants show need. . I don't grow monsters but I've grown healthy plants for 15 years this way.

Thanks for the replies guys, so basically it is a bit risky to put the seed directly the in all mix (nutrient burn ?) ?

Or I could as well do a mix and germinate in paper then put in jiffy until the first leave then transplant to pot, but looks like overly complicated !:cool1:
