New Grower- Auto BD & Auto LSD

Well,

After a first round fail, I’m back at it again with a new setup.
Went with a Spider Farmer sf2000 full kit. It’s in the spare room which the missus isn’t too happy about, but will move into the garage out the back once it gets built in the new year.
Temps are a bit high on average 25-30 degrees, but the RH is pretty steady around 45-50%.
Running an Amnesia Haze auto at the moment as a couple of the other autos I popped at the same time didn’t make the cut.
Not sure what day she is at, but at a guess around 40 days or so. By the looks she is in pre flower so I have stopped the veg nutes and have been feeding flower nutes and some rock resinator.
Feeding 2ml/L each of Canna Vega Flores and 2ml/L of Rock Resinator. Total EC is 1.1 PH between 6.0-6.4
Feeding every 48 hours or so or when pot feels light. Feeding PH’d water in between feeds.
I think I’m doing alright for my first run, any tips or advice welcome.
Just popped 3 auto beans to put in tent to fill her up a bit. This was a bit of a dummy run to suss out light and tent etc.
Light is at 100% 18” from the top of canopy.
Here are a couple of pics
P.S can I put auto seeds in corner of tent to veg while the Amnesia is flowering?
Looks like you are moving in the right direction.
RH might be a little low at that temperature. Here is a chart the temperature is based on the leaf temperature at the top of the canopy usuall 1 or 2 degrees cooler than ambient air:

What you need to learn about watering will come with practice. Here are the basic rules: Never let the soil dry out. Soil and or coco can become hydrophobic if allowed to dry. This means it repels water. This in turn will create dry pockets in the soil and roots there will die. If your soil - coco have accidentally dried out use a surfactant to help re-wet it. I like yucca powder. Don't let soil remain soggy by watering too much too often. Root rot, damping off, molds, fungus gnats and other problems start in soggy soil. When you do water water the entire pot. How to learn when to water starts before you plant the seed. Fill your container with fresh soil/coco and weigh it (heft it) this is the lightest weight and consider it a dry pot. Now slowly water until the soil/coco will no longer absorb the water and run-off begins; weigh the pot (heft it) this is the maximum water, the wettest the pot can get. The difference between wettest and driest is the maximum water weight, for ease of explanation lets just say the water weighs 20 pounds. When the pot loses 10 pounds (half of the water weight) it is time to water again. There is an art to watering.

Yes you can grow autos at any stage in the 18/6 light.

Cheers for the reply Man ‘O’ Green,

So, if I can’t control temperature, I’ll turn humidifier and raise RH and keep it in the green range? So according to temp in the tent, RH should be around say 70%?
Yeah, watering is definitely an art. I’ve killed heaps of seedlings in the last few months from overwatering. Live and learn I guess and all part of the learning curve.

What's the most effective form and cost effective of yucca to use?

Looks like you are moving in the right direction.
...
I'd go a little more enthusiastic. Shag, your second run looks damned good so far!! That is one healthy plant.

I really like the watering advice you post Man'O'Green. To me, watering is a foundational skill.

I suppose the most cost effective would be to grow a plant, dry it and powder it for use :crying: I don't know WTF I bought a 2 oz. package from NPK Industries a couple of years ago and still have at least half of it. It only takes a tiny bit to do the job.

LOL! Thanks!

Cheers bob,

I like to think I’m doing alright. So far so good I reckon. Pretty pedantic with watering, ph, ec, and everything in between so I’m on the right track. Having a bit of trouble keeping temps down.

do things look alright here folks? Went away for 3 nights and got a friend to water for me. I appreciated the gesture, but he didn’t ph the water at all and fed them ph 7.7 straight water, plus skipped a day and the pot completely dried out
Any issues in these photos brains trust?
leaves look a lot less green since the last pics a few days ago.

happy growing

Gday Growers,

Any help here would be much appreciated. My plants leaves look to be going more yellow by the day. Wasn’t sure what to do so gave it a flush with plain ph 6.4 water until run off.
Any advice on what to do next? Have just been feeding Canna Terra base nutes from start of grow and Rock Resinator from flower.

Cheers and Happy Growing
