Lots of great info here on AFN! All pics in this post taken with iPhone, I have ordered a 40 x 1000 endoscope and hope to have better tricome pics forthcoming.
Seeds from Growers choice, planted three GG on 5-1-19, today is day 83. 4 x 4 x 6 grow tent, quantum LED light, Promix soil, ph'd tap water, Fox farms grow big for veg and tiger bloom and finally 18-6 light schedule.
I find it interesting that all 3 plants look different and develop in different stages.
The reason I'm posting is to determine when to harvest. I understand the tricomes are the best method to determine this.
The tallest gorilla is shedding fan leaves (yellow) very rapidly which makes me think it is nearing the end. The gorilla on right, in front has brown spots on leaves and was treated once with cal-mag but has the biggest and most dense colas of the three plants.
To summerize, all three plants appear to have different maturing dates, is this normal? Any advice judging from the poor pictures?

Heya, good lookin plants there!
I dont know nothin about nothing but heres my 2 cents.
It looks like youve still got some of the wild, long whitish pistils growing out. Its not the best indicator at all of ripeness but i think in general most of the pistils will be a brown/reddish color and a bit curled in looking when its gettin close to done.
And fwiw thats not a great way to judge but it can be one indicator!
So having typed all that out id hazard a guess that youre still a couple weeks out maybe, assuming you were looking for a more ripe bud

As above the white hairs is just a guide.up close with a scope to see the lil ball ontop of trich.....what % is clear/cloudy/amber ? Im a bit of an eejit when it comes to harvest.one amber trich is my guide, others would say 20% ambers.
Good luck n keep er lit
:pighug:

hey @mainiac116 and :welcome: to afn! :toke: yup, it'z all about the trichz ;) partial-to-all cloudy for the more "head" stone, cloudy-to-amber for the "body" stone...but strain has a lot to do with it too (ratio of sativa vs indica genez, etc) and yes, every plant is different, even of the same strain, so different maturing datez is uzually the case

ppp & :goodluck:

I’m growing three gg from the same seed bank and their seeds are known for taking a loooong time. One of mine is in week 6 of flower and I still have at least 10 days to go. GCS states flowering is 55 days for that strain right? So you are in week 5 maybe week 6 of flower? You have a ways to go still, grab a loupe and get cozy with her, it’ll make for some good practice.

The package my gorillas came in state "FLOWERING TIME 55-65 days".
Unfortunately I did not record the date flowering started but you are probably correct.
I just received a digital microscope and will need to set up a tripod to get some clear pictures as I cannot hand hold the scope steady enough. I will post some pics hopefully later today. I do have a loupe but again, very hard for me to get a good look.
The vegetation on the most mature plant is yellowing and dropping daily now, it must be close to harvesting imo.
I'm continuing to have heat problems but I've managed to keep the RH in the 40's to hopefully avoid mold and bud rot issues.
Interesting hobby, lots to learn. One thing I may need to change in future grows is I've used exactly one gallon water/nutes per plant (7.5 gal bag) throughout the growing process, may need to water more.

This is week 13 day 86 for me.
