I bet you clicked this thinking there would be a pic of a new cab, sorry to disappoint you... a design pic should be completed later today or tomorrow.

I am in the process of designing what will be the last cabinet I ever build however I need to know the Height, Length and Width of a 250w HPS ballast (not digital), preferably one made by Growlush if possible.

Also I will be using a cooltube, and as I have never used or even seen one connected can someone please explain (with words and pics would be nice) how the cable goes from the ballast to the light holder as there is the ducting in the way....

While I patiently await for the above answers here is a picture of the cabinet base showing the air inlets...could be subject to change.....just like the 50 other times I have changed it so far :P

Thanks TBM, that helps, now I understand how it connects.
Now all I need is the Height, Length and Width of a 250w HPS ballast (not digital), preferably one made by Growlush if possible.
I suppose the dimensions of any ballast will do assuming they are all the same.

Hmm, Height and Length wont be a problem, only Width, I have 140mm...about 5 1/2 inchs I can use.

If that's not enough space I can put it elsewhere.

Email back from the shop, I love this shop, bought from them before on several occasions.
Sent email with question a few minutes ago, went out and checked my mailbox as the postman just rode past, reply from the shop already waiting for me on my computer screen when I returned :)

The size of the HPS 250w Ballast is about 350mm (L) x 150mm (W) x 150mm (H).

Now I can continue with the design.

A little more progress, however the ballast will not fit where I had planned to put it......so things will likely change a little.
The crisscross parts in the middle are hidden pieces, the lowest section will be sealed as it is part of the air ducting, the other two above that are currently for storage....subject to change..eg a silencer / scrubber etc
The main part of the plan is to have a 250w HPS in the right section and 192w (possibly 240w) of CFL's in the left section.

nice... watch the heat on the CFLS.. make sure you have enough air flow especially if you plant to use a carbon scrubber... they cause a lot of airflow resistance... I'd reccomend a 4" at least 100 CFM fan to hopefully yield 50-75 CFM after filtration for that setup... my :2cents:

I have a 125mm (5in) inline fan coming for the 250w HPS, cooling for the CFL side has not been decided upon.

probably could handle both with that... properly routed air is key.. maybe slipt the intake for the fan to both sides... then meter your intake hole accordiingly.. exahaust from the top of the hcambers where the heat builds fastest.
