i have a space 2x2x2 actually two boxes same dimensions. i'm looking into l.e.d. for cheap and no heat. currently muddling over purchasing the screw in 10 pack l.e.d. lights from htgsupply.com. i know 1 watters have given poor results, and i am not sure if these r 1,s or 3s. i probably can only fit one in each box, possibly two, in party cups as i have been following many of those grows here, and read extensively on autos themselves. with the screw ins i can position the lights at all different angles, as i have read about light penetration of canopy ect. does anyone have any recommendations regarding srain for such a small space to maximize yield? i plan on keeping two in each box in party cups no transplant or one in each box right into bigger pot size, no transplant. any ideas or advice in a whole would be appreciated. i've grown outdoors for many years many different strains and always clones from a mother, started indoors and moved out. these autos are amazing when i can will be starting my own breeding program with many successful photo hybrids created under my belt i am so excited to get involved in these new ground breaking auto strains. this forum is awesome people are very educated on the subject and willing to help. looking forward to contributing my experience once it all gets started. thanks and keep blazing one day the great plant will be free!!

Welcome to AFN calipso! Glad your here!

Don't know much bout those screw in led lites, so can't help ya there. 2x2x2 is small this will be a micro grow...hehe some small well yeilding strains are auto assassin, & himilayin blue diesel. I personally couldn't grow mold in a space that small...haha lots of folks do quit well tho. Happy growing!

Welcome calipso! Like Smashed said, that space is tight so you'll probably want to check in with some of our LED & micro gurus here: CFL, T5, LED, and Micro Growing The footprint isn't so bad, but 2' of height makes it tough. I agree that the Short Stuff line has a lot of good producers that run on the small side. In addition to the HBD, Snowryder is another one that won't get too large. The original Lowryders also stay pretty small and they're reliable.

thanks guys, i thought the height was going to be an issue from everything i had been reading. the blue himalyan is what had interested me i had seen some pretty small plants busting out beautiful trichs, due to the space size is the reason i was looking into those screw ins, one on top and some on the side angled. as i read and view more i think this might be bad due to the lights being too close and i would run into a bleaching problem. maybe will give it a go as i build a better cab. thank and nice to meet yas :)

I would seriously consider CFLs given your tight space. I routinely have the plants within an inch of my 42w bulbs and they're fine. Even if it grows into the bulb before you can move it, you just get a little singe on the leaf. CFLs will also allow you to place bulbs below and to the sides of your plants to encourage lower bud growth rather than one tall main cola.

funny you say that, i currently have cfls in the one cab, the other is yet to be finished. the main reason i was thinking bout these screw in l.e.d.s is that fact the box gets pretty hot! i have two pc fans running on in one out, and the temp still gets pretty dam hot usually runs between 100 and 105F. the fans i have installed are stealthy and almost completely silent. that is they key element to the box i want complete stealth both sound and light. the box leaks no light at all i did a good job on that will post some pics when it is convenient. Also, these l.e.d.s i have been following for the past 6 yrs and could see their potential back then but still remained tooo expensive. now i can fit those into my budget and was looking into breaking into the l.e.d. scene. i have had gr8t success with cfls in the past even growing super photo strains which are only available from one single breeder out of canada. i even had a friend of mine grow some huge monsters under cfls his first time out with my super strain northern lights hybrid i crossed myself. his trichs were not off the chain as i have had in the past but his yield was actually amazing. he however fed them like nothing but regular tap water and no nutes were even administered. he was looking for as organic and natural as possible and dirt and water was what he felt was most close to what he desired. i however would have fed them much hhaha. so basically i think i am going to give this a go with the current cfls in the place and do my thang as usual see what happens. the more i read the more i learn this community is gr8t have never come across a better place since the good ol days when overgrow.com was still up and running but ofcourse the feds and governments of the world stepped in and shut us down, lost alot of helpful and passionate fellow heads after that. thanks for the advice and the warm welcome to the neighborhood!

Welcome calipso!

When your reading up on LED's check out TshirtNinja's posts. He is the local LED expert.

thanks guys i have been reading plenty of the ninjas posts he is rather knowledgeable. however, i think i am going to stick to the cfl setup for this first go wit the autos. since i've worked with cfls before i am a bit more comfortable since i have not worked with any autos previously. now all i need is some magic beans and we ready to fly :) willl keep yas posted on the progress and pics will be available the first second i snap em.
