Fuxfarms does it again!... there's a couple threads here too, citing the same complaints,...I got a few bags of HF and OF last season, thinking they were fine like in the past-- :slaps:  --low 5's in the bag! ruined first round of auto's,... had to use hydrated lime to fix before planting,...
Shred'-- the best soil gurus here are the TLO/organic folks, and their advise is to use faster acting limes sources, like Ag' lime, or powdered oyster shells,... dolomite is chemically different from pure good ol' CaCO3, which is what oysters and Ag lime (mostly) are,... dolo' needs time, even in fine grain forms, to break down and release/react... hydrated is the only "right now" fast lime, but must be used with great care because of this,... it's ina powdered form, so it'll mix up in the water just fine, but I'd add a wetting agent along with it for sure! It doesn't truly dissolve, but it can penetrate deeper, faster than other lime's... I mixed into the soil beforehand, so I can't say for sure how to add as a wtaer suspension,... if you try hydrated lime, experiment with tap water, adding 1 tsp at a time, and measuring the pH change to see how much it drops,... also, run-off method is full of potential errors in measurement, IMO... at some point, best thing to get is an Accurate 8 soil pH probe!... here's a good link to a run-off testing method that helps reduce error,.. assuming the pH meter is also calibrated and clean!
