New Grower Need Help Asap Auto Seedlings

Holy crap! If you're runoff is 4.9, then we need to know the pH of the water going in, and for this I would suggest getting a cheap gallon of "Distilled" water which should be PH 7 or 7.1. Fox Farms has been notorious for shipping out bad batches of dangerously low-ph soil. You'll need to act fast to save your babies! We're happy to help but we need to do some more tests. First get the pH of the plain water and then take runoff again.

The ph of my tap water is like 7.6ph and is 164 ppm from tap

Take a small sample of your soil mix let's say a half gallon or at least a few cups of soil. Put it in a bucket or pot and add a lot of water to it. I'm talking make mud out of it. let it sit for a hour or so. Drain off enough water to get another Ph reading. This is to verify the reading you had for the pot with plants in it.

Out of the bag my Happy Frog is 5.4!!!!!!! BAD BAD BAD!! I added a good amount of lime to get up to 6.6.There is a rather lengthy thread on a different message board regarding Fox Farms Ocean Forest having a dangerously low PH out of the bag. Are you watering using the straight 7.6ph water and your run off is 4.9 or are you using PH down to get to 6.5 first?

Fox Farms should go into the battery acid business

Im just watering with straight tap water , but yesterday when i added the cal-mag the ph dropped to 5.8 so i used ph up to get it to 6.6 then watered . Ok later today when i gt home ima do that with the soil and see .

And ya i do agree Jodirt they really should start selling battery acid lol .

But ok guys what is another soil thats good , cause fox farms has been failing me on the last couple grows

I get 3,8 ph.
But Im using stoned math.
Either way its dangerously low!
Big root drench with some high ph water with lime & cal/mag.
pretty much what every one just said.

Ok u gt a good recipe for soil , cause i think ima just pull these 2 plants and start more seeds i gt a lot of auto seeds .

Cause one thing i no about autos if the gt a bad start they usually dnt produce to well.

And were do i need to pick uo the lime stuff , do i need to go to the hydro store

Looking at the situation with the plant and knowing that the runoff water pH is so low I do not think you have any need to add cal-mag to the water. Just work the soil pH to be where it should be and the plant can absorb the nutrients and essential minerals it needs.

TaNg uses Plagron light mix, so I bet you couldn't go wrong choosing that one, Shedrit

medGrower,

I agree with you.

Give them a week with a better Ph situation first. For being 2 weeks old they really don't look half bad. Sure they could look a little better but look around the forums and you will see plants much worse at 2 weeks that still pull off great results.
