My roommate also has need of clean water, so we've decided to go in on a countertop reverse osmosis system. We don't need a whole lot, just a couple gallons a day really. We don't want something we need to add to the lines, as we're renting, and our faucet won't let us add anything anyway (old plumbing).
What's a good unit, something with inexpensive membranes, ideally? I don't need anything super fancy, just clean water. I searched and there's another thread, but that guy found another solution.
