Very generously sent along with my JB Dabs order was a soon to be released prototype 'Budder Knife' that carbs nicely on a E-Nectar Collector tip.
@WildBill has a ton of experience pressing hash.Hey everyone! Decided to use my trim to make some ice water hash, got it all dried out and ready to press! Anyone have any experience with pressing hash and have any tips they want to pass along? Going to give the 37 and 160 press club bags a try with this one and will try to use directional flow folding. Should make the NS Mini put in some work. Found a pretty good guide I want to follow so hoping it all works out. Always open to good advice though.
My press and method is outlined in my review of my NS mini press review. I've recently used this method to press 7g of Samsquanch OG instead of just 4g and ended up getting a 1.4g return at about 3 mins and 200°F which is great. Perfect for me.Getting the urge to buy a press, do we have a tutorial on here? I know I’ve seen different strains need different temps/pressure but, looking for all encompassing instructions… you and wild bill should gather a few more and jot down a beginners manual on what’s needed, pressures, temps, times, etc. for us wanting to get into pressing. I have at least 4lb of trim to process, be it bubble or press or both. Usually get hash thru bubble bag method so wondering about that as well…

Man. I'm no hash'pert.@WildBill please enlighten me on your process!
Thanks man! Really appreciate the info, will let you all know how it goes!Man. I'm no hash'pert.
I have a NugSmasher Mini. I press flat at 4g each in 37 micron bags. I size the bag to the suggested size to get proper effective product pressure. I like to make a big run as possible and load everything up. I cold pre-press all of them to make sure all air is out and it's still at the same size.
I start low temp. I bring up the plate temps. I place the bag in the press and when I first reach firm resistance, I start a min. warm up. Trying to keep the same level of pressure as it compacts during the warm-up.
Once the warm up is over, or, if it's really good first shake, if it begins to flow before the warm-up is over, I slowly apply full pressure. Usually 2min is good for high quality rosin. I reclaim from the puck anyway.
I'll play with the temps, but usually start at 175*F and have used 195 on some older hash.
I love the low temp flavors, but there may be something about pulling more out of the plant's essence at the higher temps. Depending on the size and quality of my next dry ice shake....Double Grape and Sour Stomper, I may run a test with one high temp squish and a seat of da boo boo test.
And....No! It's NOT just another reason to get baked!
Nothing special. I'm happy with the returns!
You would make bubble and then press that pressing trim would not yield good altho I never tried I just do bud with no filter. If you had a filter you might be able to use trim. I just take a fat nug and squish right at the edge.Getting the urge to buy a press, do we have a tutorial on here?
