Myth Busting - Revegging Autoflowers

it has been said that if you take a micro propagation cutting of an auto flower and you then root it. something between the time of being stored and the time that it roots seems to reset the process. apparently you get a veg phase before it immediately goes to flower.

i have no source. it was in a private email between myself and a prominent writer in the cannabis community,

Some plants have a stronger drive to survive and procreate. I suppose almost anything is possible, but I would really have to see consistently duplicable results before I believe it.

Something about this claim reminds me of a seed seller 4-5 years ago who who claimed to have developed a perennial MJ strain that keeps producing forever. And seeds were over a grand each. I called BS then, and in all of this time it still has not received any press.

If autos can be re-vegged, re-flowered etc, only time will tell.

I remember that too. Attitude used to have a lot of no-name, nobody breeders where they'd put some insane price tag on the seeds, just so growers could flex their internet weiners going "I paid $500 for these bruhhh." lol

Can we inquire on who the writer was if so prominent?

As far as the taking early cuts, I do think there's some manipulation of plant hormones that could potentially delay the vegetation period. We touched on very briefly before but we talked about some growers experimenting with mainlining and other techniques to delay the transition. There gets to be a point though where "too long" starts to simply not make sense for why you'd grow an auto in the first place IMO.

It is possible to graft cannabis on perennial strains of hops and I imagine with a bit of effort and unorthodox techniques you might have a more perpetual harvest. I do know of people that have successfully grafted cannabis on annual hops vines, to camouflage among the hops their outdoor grows and did gain considerable results.
A perennial cannabis strain is a bit far from us, unless somebody invests into genetic research and manages to manipulate its genome. That would be obviously more easy with photoperiod plants since they are indeterminate by nature, whereas autos are determinate, despite some exceptions due to hybridisation.

I am growing a freakshow right now, and got some progress in my journal ( LINK :D )
Pretty cool plant, stays small, but we will see. I will try to take a few clones and mess around with her.

here are some recent pictures

I have annual flowers in my garden that have the same grow pattern as an auto (branching, height etc) and have exactly the same leaves. I love this strain and its potential and I am seriously unhappy it is unavailable here in Greece. For my personal needs it is the absolute stealth. I can grow this on my balcony facing the main street with no camouflage other than a few pots with flowers and really nobody can notice. I must find a way to get my hands on it!

I agree - it's super exciting! Would love to see it flowering and a report on the end product. I would definately try an outdoors grow with this little beauty!!

:pass:

Problem is it is not available currently in Europe and with the covid situation all non EU parcels are opened checked and sterilised by the customs here. So even a stealth package from a non EU country has no chance of not being discovered...

I have a plethora of seeds, maybe I'll grow several in small pots and then try to reveg them. If nothing else, it will be fun lol.

I should grow Ducksfoot and reveg it just to show you the weirdest thing ever....... This is on my list! ( yeah its not auto but it is WEIRD )
I would love to see it
